two questions... is it ok to buy as a first drone? and how close are flight characteristics to the actual inspire as far as entry level comparison? im looking to get into drones and eventually get my drone FAA comercial liscense to use for Utility electric line inspections and wind turbine blade inspections which are two industries I work in. It's an amazing quadcopter! I'd possibly go with something slightly more durable as a first quad and then fly this, but if you are patient and have an open area to fly, this could do as a first :)

Nate & Abby, You guys rock.....I watched this video numerous times before deciding to buy the Q333. It works just like you said it would. I even bought extra batteries (don't know why some folks can't find them). My first day flying it was great until it got stuck 70 ft. up in an oak tree. But I was so impressed with it that i ordered another that night (pissed my wife off). Been flying the new one a couple of weeks now and I absolutely love it. Several hard crashes and it's still going strong. I'm writing this mostly for all of the nay-sayers about its quality. Sure, it's a toy....we all know that. About an hour ago I finally got my first one out of the tree after two weeks. It went through wind and rainstorms and finally a 70ft. drop to the ground. The only damage was: the battery popped out and one of the motor covers came loose (snapped right back into place). I knew this bird was done from all of the rain, but I couldn't resist: I popped a spare battery (the kind that apparently don't exist) in it and she came to life. Lights, deformation, camera, everything worked. I gave it a short test flight and it was perfect! The left rear motor started to smoke a bit, so I pulled the battery. I just ordered 4 new motors for a whopping $25. In a couple of weeks, I'll have 2 working birds. All in all, I think this bird is well worth the price, and all parts are readily available if you just look for them. Thanks so much for your excellent videos !!!!!!

I had one of these and I had issues with the battery clicking in. I would recommend using a rubber band around the battery so it does not come loose during flight and crash like mine did. Great video non the less keep them coming!

Hey Nate, If you watch the video again you'll see the RTH was spot on as it was facing off center (about 1 o'clock position) when you took off the last time before you used the RTH. Don't forget some quads will return in the opposite direction that it's bound in and some in the opposite direction their nose is facing during TO. *Dance the Skies*.

I bought the q333a back in October of 2017. I attached a gopro off the back end with a swing arm and flew it once trying to film the sunset. It was about 20 degrees F and about 80' above my house it started to drift out over a busy intersection. I tried to bring it back but it soon spiraled into the biggest tree in my backyard. After impacting this tree about 50 feet up, the only thing that came to the ground was the gopro. (I did recover footage of the crash off the gopro). Well this drone spent the entire winter up in this tree and that not a good place to be as Alaskan winters are brutal and long. It hit - 35F on a few occasions. Last month around the 5th of May a wind storm with 60mph gusts knocked the drone outta the tree so I recovered it and sat in on the heater for a few days. The T bracket on the right side was broken and the smaller of the carbon rods was missing as was the attachment clip where it was seated to. The entire right arm with two motors was free to spin around so essentially the right side motors where upside down. I sent away for these parts, used hotglue, half a split straw and tried to fix it. I've no experience fixing drones and this was my first drone. Yesterday was its first flight and the damn thing flew better then when I first flew it. It's stable and all the LEDs work. Amazing for a toy drone.

I've had quite a few WLtoys copters, and they are all pretty well sorted (which makes a pleasant change) IF ONLY they had done a mark two version of this with the super gimbal that comes with their Q696 and (at least) altitude hold, it would have been a winner.

I have the Q303 and it's quite enough to have some fun. It has auto-leveling camera (on 1 axis) and you can set it to your preferred angle. Plus, it has altitude hold function. It would be nice if they went with the same things here too. Still, I can't get why they go with so low quality cameras on those toys...

Well brother nate and sister abby i bought the q333 about a year ago and it's a great quad ( several zip ties later) after a number of crashes! Even though after getting into brushless motors i think I'm going to buy another q333 because it flies like a brushless and my q333 is officially d.o.a. again i love your videos! And as always it's like hanging out with friends when i watch you guy's! Would love to see wltoys do a brushless version or atleast an upgrade kit!

Other reviews have noted the frame being overly flexible causing some control problems, but flying in the snow/cold might be making the frame stiffer giving you better flight performance.

I've decided to get the Q333 as Gear Best do free postage to the UK where I am but the advert say's 0.3mp camera and I know there are 3 versions A,B and C I'm probably being stupid? It can be some are advertised HD with 5.0mp or 720p with 2.0mp it,s confusing I want one with 720p video the actual video you have done the pictures look great. Thanks for the great video's they have definitely helped me get into drones.

Great review and thanks for the info. I can't believe some of the negative stuff below... esp. the one guy's handle (not going to say it here... don't want to give him the time of day!). One suggestion, though, is try to stabilize the camera that's recording you guys? It's a bit jumpy and distracting, esp. at the beginning. Even so, great info. and I appreciate you taking the time to make the video.
