Jappa only helps preserve CORRUPTION- THE GRASS IS NOT ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE. By Nigerian proffecianals leaving only opens up the Country to CHINEESE INVASION. CORRUPT AFRICAN LEADERS LIKE CHINESE BECAUSE CHINESE PAY INTO POCKETS OF CORRUPT LEADERS. THEY DO NOT WANT TO PAY THE NIGERIANS TAX STRUCTURES.

My earlier comment was a reflection on why we needed to japa in the first instance. I am old enough to recall that people only went abroad to study and as soon as they were done, they returned to Nigeria with great pomp and ceremony and began to produce and help the country with their skill set. This is no longer the case. By japa back, I was actually referring to some who went back to Nigeria and did not have a nice time after living so long abroad. Emphasis on the word SOME not ALL. At the end of the day, everyone shall deal with the cards of destiny that they are given and make the best of it. Wishing us all well.

The point here is: leave your comfort zone. Developed countries give everyone a fair chance at meeting their basic needs. Which then make it easier to scale-up.

@@officialDTOtv Leaving Nigeria to go look for an easier life elsewhere is not leaving your comfort zone. You're literally doing the opposite. You're searching for a comfort zone instead of solving the problems that your people are facing. It's a selfish self preservation endeavour.

@@kennedytsokodibane3058 let's be honest, there's no easier life anywhere. To make a living, one has to work hard first, then, smart except one wants to cut corners. Now to the realities of the majority of Nigerians(we cannot/shouldn't always see things from the lenses of the privileged), everyone cannot be high up the ladder of success but when your earnings from that menial jobs can give a sense of self worth, when the everyday regular Nigerians can feed well from the little they make, when they can be sure that they can access good healthcare with their little means, when they can be sure their children can have basic education in a sane environment, then we can clamour for staying back. Else, people should go to where they can have some form of decent lifestyle. It's the same reason people leave the villages to the cities.

@@kennedytsokodibane3058There is no easier life anywhere. One has to work hard first, then, smart to be successful and I bet you know that Nigerians work hard but there's nothing to show for it. I speak of the majority of Nigerians: the regular everyday Nigerians (cleaner, driver, even professionals such as nurses, doctors, teachers) who work hard but cannot make ends meet. These people are solving problems everyday in their own right. Every human who is working should be able to have decent meals, live in a good house, have access to healthcare, water etc to say the least but that's not the case with the majority of Nigerians. A cleaner in the UK for instance can afford to buy a car, live in a fairly decent apartment and eat whatever they want! Until these basics are sorted, people should move to where they can have some form of dignity and reward for their labour.

This is a very deep conversation. Africa might remain on the same spot for so long if some of these issues aren't addressed. Then again, how can Africa as a continent make progress when you have leaders who are backward, reteogressie in their thinking and approach to leadership, and just want to remain in power for the rest of their lives. These are the issues really.

This borderless Africa is the reason why Ghadafi and Abacha were killed. They hardly travelled outside Africa except it was very important , they wanted to create a single currency for Africa ,they encouraged indigenous industries and sent most of the foreign owned busineses packing or made them partner with citizens . The west ( UK, US, Canada , France ) want us to remain underdeveloped. So Japa if it's your destiny to and for the sake of a better future for your generation .

If leaders use resources to build their families, let's take them to task by making them account it's called accountability. Accountability should go with consequences. I mean even in Nigeria we have people asking to repatriate their fellow Nigerians to their native states. Though the Dr is speaking sense but that Cuba he mentioned no make sense....Cubans swim to the US just to be free from their country's regime...Nigerians cross the desert to get to Europe...same thing, its not about light and visa free isshh...they failed to mention one of the biggest reasons why pple move to US, UK, Canada can also be tied to language, alot of pple would not want to move to Brazil to start to learn Portuguese...i think the Dr needs to do a deeper dive to this issue of migration...i can say a lot about this

Nigerians never listen to the full message. People will always move to where they see as better. Cuba passport strength is 68, Nigeria is 92. Unemployment in Cuba is 1.35% - do you know that of Nigeria?? People move to places that are better, that’s why Cubans and Brazilians can move to The USA I am willing to debate with you if you want. One of the end goals of migration is assimilation which includes learning a language. It’s why we travel/ migrate.

😮 You are definitely not smart. Do you know the population of Cuba? How many of the total population of Cuba do you see attempting to swim to the US? You villager.

To add to that, the English speaking countries outside of Europe are wealthier and have more promising immigration policies.

Bob the Builder comment is rather flippant, he’s smart enough to do a better narration. Nigeria is the way it is for many reasons Nigerians hardly understand - uncontrolled population, poor human capacity, poor infrastructure, depleted resources arising from international arbitration. By all means travel if you can but stop disparaging your country online, folks like you enjoyed subsidised education.

I think the major reason our people insist on UK, US or Canada is because of language, especially those with children. They need to move to English speaking countries where children can integrate easily

You're very wrong! Building Nigeria is not the responsibility of everyone, it's the responsibility of the president and governors. Putting equal responsibility for the success of Nigeria on the common man and the president is one of the reasons why Nigeria is in such a mess. Someone has to be held responsible for the development of the country and that person is the president. But in Nigeria we absolve the president of his responsibility which is why no Nigerian president has ever done anything for Nigeria at all. A proverb says that the goat that belongs to the whole community will die of hunger because nobody will feed it. As a citizen, my responsibility is to better my life and obey the laws of any country where I choose to live while doing so, full stop!

Personally i have always loved Central Europe (Netherlands specifically), Northern Europe (Scandinavian countries; Sweden, Norway, Finland etc), Asia(Japan, Singapore, Philippines) and the Americas(South; Brazil, Cuba, Chile. Central; Nicaragua, Honduras. Caribbean; Barbados, Bahamas, all dem islands). Maybe because of my love for Tech, Arts and Culture, Sports and Lifestyle. What you can get in US, Canada, UK, you can also get to some degree from these other countries.

In Scandinavian countries, spanking a child is ILLEGAL. If you spank your child, even once, the government will remove the child from your home and may terminate your parental rights (Speaking from personal experience).

The government, politicians and the unpatriotic citizens attitude gives him the right to discredit Nigeria. Home or abroad we all need a sense patriotism to build the Nigeria that we're dreaming about. The Nigeria we want is in us, you don't need to be a builder to build NIGERIA.

This issue of addressing borderless Africa is what an initiative like AfCFTA planned to address but the implementation has been dragging (unnecessarily, I’ll say) due to lack commitment and leadership drive among member nations Good point there…

Tbh...borderless africa is a bad idea...as a Kenyan, that would mean people from somalia, drc, sudan and south sudan can always access my country...these countries are always in a war...we already have many refugees...borderless africa will mean all our neighbours will try to relocate to a few specific countries including mine...it's not like we create many jobs so unemployment will surge even more...borderless africa mostly makes sense to people from very shitty countries
