No where in the Bible does it specifically state that each of the gospel authors were speaking to different audiences and therefore needed to tailor their messages in different ways to reach said audiences. The gospels are not epistles in which it is clearly seen that Paul's communication style and topics varied slightly because his audience was targeted towards specific groups of people. 2. The first historical account of gematria comes from Assyria (indicating it's Pagan mysticism origins). No where in the bible is gematria or numerology mentioned as being sanctioned by God. The Talmudic Jews of today (spoken about in Revelation 2:9 and 3:9) heavily utilize gematria which is taught within the Talmud (their holy book), but many of the beliefs and practices of the Talmud are in direct contradiction with what is taught by the Most High God in the Bible. 3. By insinuating that Matthew essentially lied and misrepresented the generations in his account simply to prove a point, shows that the pastor does not believe that the Bible is divinely inspired, but it is rather just another literary work written from the constructs of man. The bible is a book of history speaking about the God of Israel and the history of his chosen people. Not just some book with catchy moral sayings.

Brother, you are correct it does not say that in the Bible, however the scholars who have studied this for centuries have come to that conclusion by what was and was not put in each gospel. They can tell that Matthew was written for Jews by sayings that only Jews would know. I would say that you look something up before you disparage it.
