This song is the one that introduced me to Epic and since the Circe Saga released I knew I had to do this

Eh, the song's first bit feels more coercive than that. She's saying "Sleep with me or your men are dead," that's a bit more (what's the word...extreme. Let's go with that) than "Come on, cheat on her, your wife will never know." I'm not against the theme at all, it provides great character development, I just think the comparison isn't very apt.

@@antoniotrivelloni8191 I mean, you're absolutely right, but since Hamilton is a huge deal for musicals and stuff, it's kinda hard not to compare (and that's a callback to the watch party where everyone was joking about it too lol)

@@juu_euacho but Odysseus did sleep with circe in the original Odyssey. im not sure if he did in the musical or not, in the original story he in fact did not learn from hamilton.

I never heard the end of this song until today and frankly it makes me happy. Instead of leveraging Circie's belief that she can read Odysseus through... Intimacy. It ends with her having genuine hope in both odysseus's journey and the world. Her outlook is a little bit brighter.

Not only that: she was ready to kill him if he said yes, but when she realized he's different from the men that led to her building the sanctuary island, she let the knife drop. She never meant to go through with it, it was a trap. And like you say, he left her outlook a little brighter

According to Homer, the Trojan War lasted 10-years. “The Iliad” recounts the tenth year. “The Odyssey” covers another 10 years. Therefore, Odysseus was away from Ithaca (and his wife) for 20 total years. 12 Long Years here is perfectly accurate, if you consider his Journey up until this point has taken about 2 years from when he left Troy. Later on he will be trapped with Calypso for 7-years, leaving 1 final year for the remaining events before he returns home.

Greece, and the Aegean Sea is fairly small though. Ships back then were pretty slow, but not so slow as to take 2 years to get to this point.

@@zegpath81 In case of Odysseus, the problem is not a slow ship, but the adventures he has to face. He didn't just cross the Aegean Sea, the ship was blown in different parts of the Mediterranean.

@@zegpath81 In The Odyssey, Odysseus and his crew stays with Circe for two years, then as mentioned by OP, with Calypso for 7 years, and then 1 more year before returning home. Since they didn't stay with Circe in this version, I guess it just ends up with them wandering for 2 years instead, which is a lil' side effect of this alternate plotline (aka, they ended up having a bad sense of direction???)😅

I love the fact that you have her heal her wound (And showing Ichor and how she's a goddess) during "There's no puppet here", as even though he's not a "puppet", he's very much at a disadvantage.

It’s nice to finally have Polites’ philosophy finally work out. So often in the musical the characters Odysseus comes across make it hard to believe in mercy and not giving into one’s wrath or dark desires and you think Circe will be another example of never trusting anyone or having to compromise one’s morals to do whatever it takes to get home(even calling back to Just a Man when Odysseus almost gives into temptation to save his crew). It’s especially clever because those who know the original myth know Odysseus does make the deal with Circe and cheats on his wife. So it’s refreshing to see in this musical the better nature of Odysseus and Circe actually win out

I love this animatic!!! You gave more variety to the nymphs (plus possibly a shot representing the nymph who had been hurt and killed being laid to rest) and showing the aftermath and them working and planning together. Just, Yes!!!! 💚💚💚💚💚

A bit rough but so fun. I love your depiction of Circe with golden eyes , her expressions, and a height to rival lady dimitrescu. I liked how you had her ready with the knife and her confused expression after. I adore that circe just has a tapestry poster of Tiresias.

@@TorgKuman Not a flashforward, but foreshadowing in the the form of a flashback. While Odysseus hasn't faced Scylla, yet the events depicted in the animatic have already transpired. Scylla wasn't always a monster, she was transformed by Circe out of jealousy, which will later have consequences for Odysseus.

I love it! Your art style is so adorable ❤ I really liked how you presented the scene of the almost stabbing and Odysseus rejecting her, it was funny. There's genuine tenderness in Circe's expression after she understands Odysseus was being genuine, I liked that. The detail of an imaginary Penelope hugging Ody when he was talking about her was so beautiful! And I liked the ending with the Nymphs helping and Hermes making a cameo, I may have screamed a little, I just loved Hermes little smile so much.
