On the technical part - yes absolutely. Unfortunately, the OSCP stomps out the CPTS when it comes to HR recognition :(

@@TylerRamsbeyBeen around longer, which is probably why that's the case. CPTS has only existed since 2022 so it might make sense for future-proofing given that certs in general tend to become more and more well-known as time goes on.

@@TylerRamsbey For now, but yeah the CPTS takes you from 0 to cyber weapon for $490. The OSCP leaves you banging your head against the wall for what...? Basic pentesting and CTF ability :/

One more important thing they mentioned is "If you are ready to take the exam without training, you can purchase the OSCP+ certification without training, which includes 2 OSCP+ exam attempts valid for 120 days from the date of purchase. This will be available to purchase on November 1, 2024." But that will be 800USD 🤧🤧

Interesting changes. Getting rid of bonus points makes sense in the context of removing the external from AD. I think that's a fair compromise. Not sure how I feel about getting partial points for AD though.

OSCP+ reverting back to the standard cert is a great move. Get the DOD compliance while also not punishing their users. Makes you wonder if the rest of the industry is going to follow, I wouldn't be surprised if vendors like TCM, INE, and HTB follow suit. Although, I wish every vendor with expiring certifications at least offered CEUs in the form of higher tier certifications. The biggest offender being INE who don't offer renewing certifications by going for higher tiered ones. now if they mentioned another price increase, im going to lose my mind. OSCP was $800 like 4 years ago, now it's more than double. Their entry level OSCC is the same price the OSCP was for years ago! For one try! They need to at least give us two tries per $1,800.

Hi need a quick advice : should i wait for Oscp+ panel labs to be introduced later in November if i intend to obtain OSCP+ cert and appear for the exam post Oct'24 or it doesnt matter the OSCP labs would remain largely same.

hello tyler nice video although i have some complaints and no one seems to be helping out, after my OSCP exam my offsec account was suspended and i have no idea how. i've reached out to offsec team multiple times but no response from them. i'm really stuck and have no clue on what to do.

CEH is entirely multiple-choice, so unless you can pay extra for the Master, not all that helpful - they do have a range that you have access to during the course, but the exam is nothing like the OSCP in terms of actually requiring you to hack things to pass it. If you can find a community college that's an official EC-Council academia partner, however, and thus get it paid for by the school (as I already have), well then it's worth it. However, and this is what I'm doing: if you can get CEH through the community college, then use CEH to get past HR and then CPTS from Hack the Box - which is a steal if you're enrolled in any academic institution because HTB has a dirt-cheap student plan that gives you full access to all the training modules - to get past the IT leadership, since they're going to be much pickier about the practical nature of certs than HR teams which tend to be behind the times when it comes to recognition. Combination of both CEH and CPTS should easily replace the OSCP for most positions.

The exam changes are fine. But the changes to the cert are disgusting. Glad i just paid almost $2000 and months of my time so that the cert i though was industry leading (for hr. Lets not have that argument) will be secondary to a new one with a cute + on it in a few months. Pay harder! Fuck Offsec. Their training is trash and they are nothing but a cash grab at this point. This de values the current certification, and most are not happy about it, especially those who passed recently.
