Absolutely love that flick. There is definitely an argument to be made to include it with the other two but the characters in fright night always struck me as a little less rock and roll than those in near dark or lost boys.

It depends on what you're looking for in a vampire movie. I get that this was all about MTV vampires, but I was a bit disappointed, that you only talked about the MTV aspect / what makes these movies cool, not about what makes them good VAMPIRE movies. Because I think there is so much to talk about vampire lore and the charakters. Fright Night, for example feels like tribute to classic gothic horror movies and has (in my opinion) the more menacing vampires. I know it can't be just me, but the reason, why I think Near Dark is better than Lost Boys is because Jesse's gang consists of better fleshed out charakters. I mean David is... fine, but everyone else? They just stand there and don't do anything. Near dark has the better established vampire clan. Other than that, it's just a matter of personal taste really. More There Can Be Only One, please!

Yeah, we were focusing on the similar MTV-ness that these movies have in common. We thought it'd be a fun way to talk about these two movies which seem to be moving vampires away from the aristocratic, Gothic thing and update them for mid-80's movie audiences. So, yeah, it's a quick talk on that part of the movies. We'll have more of these in the future!
