My wife of my youth played nasty games against me and I haven’t seen her since the day we took vows together and she raised our daughter to hate me, my daughter just turned 46 May 23,2020. My older brother talked our parents into having me put in restraints for trying to go to Alaska to see what my family called my imaginary wife and daughter Jewelry and Jewel Kilcher calls the guy that gave me his sisters hand in marriage her father in public and Jewel’s song Enter from the East is about Me

@@mrhydenotdrjekyll : i know. i feel sorry for the guy. i am not saying that he does not have the right to think the thoughts he is thinking or feel the feelings he is feeling. i'm a mental health practitioner: i get it. but there is a time and place for one to seek sympathy for their loss and grief experiences. for example, one wouldn't go to a wedding and tell his story when others are toasting the bride and groom. one wouldn't go to a funeral and tell his story when others are going up to the lectern to tell stories specific to the beloved deceased. he'd likely find much more meaningful help by seeing a therapist or attending a support group.

I could say the same exact thing! I’m 77 years old now and I remember being parked on a lonely country road in Nebraska, at midnight, drinking beer and listening to country music on KOMA In Oklahoma City...wow what memories! All the old stars of County Music of the past...Hank Snow, Merle Haggard, Tennessee Williams, Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, and oh so many of the past great Country singers! Gone are the days...

They don't make music like this anymore and its a crying shame. Because this instrumental alone makes my heart hurt and my eyes wanna cry. The pure emotion is insane in this mans execution of this song. Not to even mention the pure pain and agony it takes to write such a song. Thank you so much.
@kencarney6667
@kencarney6667 Жыл бұрын
As a former songwriter, I can tell you first-hand that it takes a lot of pain and anguish for someone to write a song. Songs are based on one's feelings be they happy or sad. I'd say that almost anyone can write a poem-- which is what a song would be minus the music. And there's where the musician comes in. That person has the knack of mating both words and music together and make it all sound seamless. It's a gift that very few people receive and it's nice to hear when someone listens to and appreciates your work. Yes Alex, songwriting is an artform when one person does it. Today, however, hardly anyone writes a song themselves. Now, it's done by a roomful of people and the basic feelings are gone. Modern songs are just empty images of what music used to be.

Dave, if only I had the money to travel next year to Texas to see you. I have never ever heard anyone that can play like you. What a blessing you have. Keep up the good work. I listen to your music almost every day. What a gift.
