You really dont know what the Inspector General duties are. They report fraud, waste, and abuse to Congress. And Congress is suppose to act on those reports. They are actually suppose to act independent of the Executive office. If anything, Congress should be up in arms about this situation. Why they are not, who knows...

You mean reports, not just one report. There would not be a single report detailing accomplishments of 17 Inspector General offices. There are thousands of reports detailing the reductions of Fraud Waste and Abuse on their 17 websites. There are many news headlines detailing the criminals that were arrested, on those websites as well. I have a strong feeling you do not know much about the IG websites based on your question.

The high costs are not a bug, they're a feature. Without government spending huge amounts into the economy, there would be no economy. And it isn't your tax dollars they are spending. They print that money and sell the debt to foreign nations. You tax dollars are a drop in the bucket. If everyone stopped paying taxes, it would change nothing. Spending would continue just the same.

But the federal government can, and they do, that's how everything gets paid for. Will it eventually collapse? Of course. But that might take hundreds of years. Or it might be next week. Who knows?

It is my understanding that congress can say what they want, make any law they want, but at the end of the day the president can do what he wants with the IG's. I also am pretty sure if this goes to the courts that is how they are going to rule. Congress can't make laws stripping the executive branch of powers they have.
