your channel is becoming a very good deep dive into psychology. Those workers all came out to what was clearly not a threat and one then gave you an aggressive response rather than a nice wave. very interesting, my money says they are lazy and bored sitting around most of their day - i would say that railway is overstaffed in that section to warrant that kind of response.

Neat visit and drone footage! 👍 The access road is a separate parcel on the railway property and not historically a road so guessing privately maintained. The 1968 OS map shows most the immediate area is railway sidings and no James Way (at gate) and no depot road shown. 1947 aerial photo shows the entire industrial area was agricultural/pasture land and some rail sidings likely added during the war and afterwards. Most of the industrial area and streets likely added during redevelopment in 80s-00s. Considering the road parcel layout and historic use of the land, suspect the road was constructed so railway property could be subdivided and sold off in the future and then have council adopt the road.

What site did you use to get the USRN number and responsibility information please?
@NarnianRailway
@NarnianRailway Жыл бұрын
@@mikef3324 When DJ and others question the property line, typically look at the Land Registry UK map to check the property boundaries. The High Output parcel boundary is along the fence on James Way. The access road on the railway depot is L shaped and continues behind the main building to 4 smaller buildings, 58890258. The parcel is surrounded by the railway depot parcel. Most of James Way is part of parcel 31692605 occupied by Charles Tyrwhitt LLP. The business park at the west end of James Way are separate parcels as well. From historic 1968 OS maps, appears a north side extension to the building and buildings to east were added at later date. Planning applications would provide access details and clarify if the road fully privately maintained. Most of the railway sidings added during and after WW2. Sidings were likely removed in the 70's under Dr. Beecham. The railway sidings and pastures would have been resurveyed and developed to form the current estate. I use the National Library of Scotland online archive for public domain OS maps which typically cover early 1800s to 1970. The FindMyStreet app used by DJ notes James Way as private street manager/open street. No detail on the access road. At the intersection, First Avenue is publicly maintained and shown as separate parcels from the industrial units. Footpath Map shows the railway depot shaded different from the industrial estate similar to Land Registry UK shading, All of the access road is shaded as part of railway (but shading used doesn't clarify ownership). Didn't have access to the Council online planning applications. Some councils post more than the past 20 years and can find development dates based on application titles. Reports will often address access and highways.

I've met too many of these people who will just drop some nonsense on you and then you think "I must have heard that wrong or they mean something I'm not picking up on," so you ask them to clarify and they just start saying "I'm not going to argue with you!" I had a friend who kept saying Iraq was Iran on a map (during a trivia game) and, to show that I had an idea of what I was talking about, I asked him to identify Jordan when I pointed to it and Kuwait. He walked out and didn't talk to me for a while after. I just wanted to get the correct answer. With this guy, never mind a drone not being supposed to get in the way of airplanes, according to him, it can never LAND!

7:45 James Way is technically a private road. It's not council maintained. But it has all the hallmarks of a public road. This is what makes a mockery of the rule that you can only take off from "public land". There is no such thing as public land, just public spaces. A private road is a public space since the public can make use of a private road. Unless it's gated off or is only used by people authorised to use the only entrance/gate on it. James Way is used by a number of businesses so there is no restriction on travel over it. So the rule might be simple for simple people or fools. But intelligent people will use the rule as a guideline and take off and land a drone from anywhere where it won't bother other people. So even a private carpark can be used so long as it's not in active use. "Rules are for the guidance of wise men and the obedience of fools." Douglas Bader

What would or could happen if you took off from private but open road like this, or a private but open car park? Could you have your operator ID taken away?
