We have a biblical assignment to pass our faith to the next generation. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson highlights several places in the Bible where Jesus specifically discusses children, how they are treated, and their role in His Kingdom. Our God story begins even before our lives begin, and He has given each of us unique assignments-including every child. Jesus warns us not to hinder their pursuit of Him, but to strengthen them in their faith and their knowledge of Him.

When did God made it clear to you that your child is actually His, not yours?

I knew both of my children was a gift from God when they was born. That is why we had our Pastor at the time to pray over them and let God know they belong to him and we was to raise them up in the way they are suppose to go and they would never depart from what they know to be truth.

What Pastor Allen said about communion reminded me of my favorite poem, “ The Vision Of Sir Launfal”. “ “ The Holy supper is kept indeed , in whatsoever we share with another’s need. Not what we give, but what we share; the gift without the giver is bare. He who gives himself with his alms feeds three, himself, his hungering neighbor and ME (Jesus).”

Always grateful for your sermons pastor Jackson! The times are here but we as a body of Christ need to love one another no matter the differences because we are all held accountable in the end in front of God Almighty. I am always in prayers for you, your family and the entire congregation though I am a member remotely here in PDX. God bless y'all!

Pastor, when you asked 'What has made us so timid?' the spirit in me, answered PRIDE. Please pray for me Pastor, I don't want to care about what others think of me, I don't want to be embarrassed and shy, anxious, whatever. I want to be filled with God's boldness, not arrogance, so I can speak to the children more about Jesus, not just my children but the world's children. Pray for me Pastor 🙏❤️✝️🇨🇾sending all my love from Cyprus. P. S I teared up when you shared the anecdote about the surgeon using oil to pray over his children. We do that a lot here and in the orthodox church. The Spirit of God is moving in the world ✝️😍✝️🌎✝️

What we Christians claim to believe is irrelevant if our actions don't support those beliefs. As the old saying goes, "Actions speak louder than words." This is a season where the difference between the Christian, wheat and chaff, is being revealed.

My heart is pierced as I recall the abortion I had when I was young & afraid. Oh how it hurts & my mind replays the entire incident. All I could think about was getting in trouble with my parents who I loved so very much & didn't want to disappoint. There wasn't anyone I could go to or would. I wasn't thinking about there being a little soul, a little tiny baby in my womb. I don't even think I knew I had a "womb". I just wanted it all "fixed". The regret sickens me & the shame crushes me, but God. Because of Jesus even the worst sins are forgiven even when it doesn't make sense. My mind spins with all the pain I inflicted and what would that little one have become. If only all young girls could see an ultrasound & see that little formed soul. It's not a problem to hurry & fix, it's a human, a defenceless, fragile tiny being that God made. It is only by His Grace and Mercy I will maybe see that little one. 🕊❤🙏😪

JUDY: What you describe represents most women that have abortions. Because you repented God has forgiven you. But there is a blessing in what you experienced and shared. You having the experience you did have a voice that helps women, that the rest of us do not. Your honestly and humility does not go unnoticed. Thank you.

@@sheilasmith7779 Thank you but it's so hard to recall & why wasn't I strong enough to do the right thing in my eyes & My Fathers eyes. One thing I tell parents is to make sure your kids know they can come to you in trouble no matter what. I was terrified at my parents knowing. In the most horrible selfish way I knew it would forever change the trajectory of my life. My priorities were obviously upside down. I was raised Catholic & the guilt & shame were too much to bare. Yes I know I'm forgiven but it is a pain like no other. I hope I will get to see my baby one day. I also know when I was married I had a miscarriage & always felt that was my punishment but why take another life. It takes alot of prayer and now I'm a Christian so I know there is no condemnation but still hurts. Thank for your kind words.

@@bennettjudi1 Judy, God help us all should the pain of our sin completely vanish. What we need to function in a positive way after grave sin, is the ability to function in a way that glorifies God. I believe that God uses different circumstances for different people in order that each one grows. As we are all different, different remedies are required, and God KNOWS that. Some Christians can't see that tragedies are used by God, for BIGGER purposes than the tragedy itself, than that person affected. An example is John Walsh who lost his son to a pedophile preditor in a horrible way. Out of this tragedy John Walsh, started, America's Most Wanted, TV show. And that show is the most successful in capturing the highest number of dangerous criminals. Miracles happen every day. We just don't notice and we fail to see the positive affect from some terrible tragedies. I'm not minimizing sin but rather emphasizing the importance of recognizing ALL the effects. I too was raised Catholic, and understand perfectly what the church did to shame us. Guilt is good, shame is not. Your pain that remains from that sin should always be there, but not to a paralyzing degree. How could you possibly understand and help women avoid the pain of abortion, if ALL of your pain was gone? The pain that remains is not to punish or cripple us, it is there to enable us to help ourselves and others. We make a mistake when we speculate on God's consequence for our sin. The very thing you or anyone might preceive as a punishment for sin, likely has a very different purpose. Situations present opportunities for growth, to bring us closer to God. This is what God desires most, as scripture tells us....so we should be careful that our attitude and feelings don't get in the way of God's larger purpose. God gave us freewill, which He will never override. It's up to you completely what you do with that tragedy. God let's you choose.
