I once had a nightmare on the theme of subnautica. It was about descending into void, other mission members getting snatched into the darkness by something unseen. Then I become the last member and reach the bottom. Something started chasing me and i fled into a hole on the floor of void. It was a entrence to a beutiful place. A great underwater cavern, illuminated with luminescent plants and fish, it was the most beutiful thing i ever seen in my life, even if that was just a nightmare. And i just sat there, on top of a rock column, slowly loosing oxygen. I accepted that this is the end, and decided to enjoy the sight, while drowning.

I had a similar nightmare once. Everything had a simpler look to the void chilocerate and were 3 times as aggressive. Also things were in like a slight black and white filter. It ended when a rotting looking warped stabbed me and started gouging out my eye

I think I have an explanation for what happened at the end: There was a scrapped biome, I don't remember the name of it, where there was some sort of shadow that would just drag you and any of your vehicles down. I think that's what this mod is based off of.

I always thought about a game of subnautica focused entirely on the void, because if you think about it, mariana trench is roughly 11 kilometers deep and there’s still some kind of life. Like, a biome on the bottom of the void, some forgotten architect technology, and a titanic size leviathan. I think it would be awesome.

Something big (doesn’t have to be as big as gargantuan) that has tentacles and releases a dark/ethereal aura around it so that you can’t really actually see it. You would be able to see lights/shadows in it though of the thing and occasionally it’s face or parts of it (it can express emotions on its face) cause it’s also intelligent and able to communicate to you via telepathy. Also it’s roar would be very deep and carry a far distance but subtle so it’s hard to pinpoint. Oh then also have it very occasionally and randomly approach till it just barely get in view then take off (until you get to the end ofc)

There's a scrapped biome/creature called the Single-Cell Landscape. It is effectively an amoeba that you would have needed either a special Atlas Cyclops upgrade or navigate with no lights on at all to even approach without instantly dying. If you shone any light without the Atlas Cyclops upgrade then an amorphous mass of tentacles would lash at you, instantly destroying your vehicle and killing you. If you search up "single celled biome subnautica" into Google the first two images you see are concept art of the biome, which was believed to have been in the void due to the lack of surrounding features and having no other possible location for said landmass.

The bloop was a sound that people heard in the ocean and some people speculated that it might be a giant sea monster. The subnautica mod was based off of that. The "bloop" sound turned out to be an iceberg scratching on another iceberg. For more info, I suggest you look it up

It’s so cool to see all these story based mods. Subnautica has an incredibly talented and dedicated mod community. This mod definitely seems like a work in progress and could use some optimization, but I’m very impressed with what they have so far. With both this and the Return of the Ancients mod, I’d say Subnautica fans are being spoiled! Can’t wait to see what both mods have in store in the future

My theory of the reefback leviathan doing that bright light it was a source of self defence. Since the ghost leviathan was near, I’m guessing it was doing that to drive it away, as we most know in real life some whales have a way of defending themselves from predators that are a threat to them and their babies. As we know some in the animal kingdom animals that have some sort of light use it to drive them away and scared them away for self defence. That’s my theory.

Liquid oxygen funnily enough exists and tests have been done. While it's possible to breathe liquid you need to essentially drown yourself willingly in it. The downside is if your lungs aren't properly dried after it, that can cause very big problems. But there is a real world counterpart (I'm also pretty sure the tests were done before the year abyss came out). Super interesting to look into!

as soon as I heard "breathing fluid," I immediately knew what it was... Liquid O2, or something similar. The technology has been explored irl and does partially work. The body can take in the oxygen from the fluid, but has difficulty releasing the CO2. This leads to the body becoming saturated in toxic CO2... if you've heard of the "Hold your wee for a Wii" challenge, this is the same thing except worse. The divers could only go for a standard time of a few minutes with the liquid in their bodies, with about half an hour being what I've heard as the absolute limit. After that, the divers would likely either suffer the bends while getting their lungs emptied or die of what is effectively drowning. All of them reported the feeling of the liquid inside their lungs as uncomfortable. The project was dropped due to there being no way to get the human body to release the CO2 into the fluid. It's my belief that intense genetic modification would be needed to make breathing underwater possible... and that would be a crime against humanity

Slight correction. Humans already can breath liquids that are highly oxygenated. And it is possible to remove the CO2 from it. I don't remember the name of it, but it is rarely used in medical treatments with certain lung problems. My memory is fuzzy so I can't really explain better than that. It wouldn't take gene modding to do it, nor is gene modding ever gonna be illegal, though people with modified genes would either be barred from events like the Olympics or would participate in their own category.

I also had a nightmare about a planet somewhat like Subnautica, a Aurora like spaceship lands in the water, but luckily in deep water so it isn't very damaged, people get off of the ship looking out Into the weird water that seems to be orange? As people dive in, we see the incredible wildlife of this world, mammal like creatures swim with their calves, reptilian creatures swim to the surface to bask, and the various species of fish swim among the foliage. Then as i least expected it..a giant leviathan that looks like a combonation of the emperor and the gargantiuan leviathans, charges out of the darkness next to us, all i hear is water splashing, the terrified screams of the people and the terrifying screeches of the creature. So thats the end of my dream/nightmare

Aurora has always horrified me , I'm a huge fan of spaceships especially gigantic one but back when I was 6 years old I played this one flash game on a site it was 2D with beautiful pixel art about great sound design and to my 6 year old brain when I saw a scene of a giant space ship crash explode and most life wiped I lowkey got a trauma for the next 4 years .. I'd constantly would get nightmares that involved spaceship crashes and it would keep me up at night eventually I got over it when subnautica got into early access I did get the game to play I went in blind and just got out went fir a swim and then I noticed fir the first time that Aurora was actually fully I game that alone sent chills down my spine . but when the PDA mentioned its gonna explode I defently stood on top my pod to watch it and I could feel my heartbeat get extremely fast . I genuinely can't handle exploding spaceships not scared of them anymore as much as I was back then but they still absolutely horrifying when done right I'm pretty sure Aurora scared me more then any of the leviathan have xD

After playing subnautica for the first time, I had a dream where like in Subnautica, I was stranded on an alien planet, but with no Aurora or even a lifepod, I was just treading water at the surface of this vast ocean. I look into the water and I see no bottom. The light reaches some 100 meters beneath and I see gray shark-like creatures feeding off of some poor lifeform. Further down, where the light barely reaches, I see amorphous blobs of something far bigger. And waaaay down deep, where the light doesn't even hit, I see light being emitted from tentacles from something that by its size must span kilometers. Once the realization hit, I woke up in a cold sweat. I didn't know thalassophobia was a thing before playing subnautica, but now I have a healthy respect for it.

The 3rd subnautica should be called subnautica dark depths Where your sent to 4546b with a team to study flora and funa in cave systems in the void but ultimately get pulled down far in the void due to a strong current. Your goal is to find your team ( who are all dead) and make your way to the surface and on your way you will come across precursor tech and will be able to fabricate precursor infused tools and equipment such as a repulser suit that will shoot away any hostile creature coming in to attack and will stun any leviathans who try to attack. The suit is powered by ion cubes that will give it 5 charges or a ion battery that will give it 2 Your only source of power is geothermal vents and nuclear power There would be a leviathan called the glow shark with its name you would think it isn't much of a threat, however when you first find it you won't know that it is there untolil it starts consuming fish. With each fish it consumes it will begin to glow making it more visible over time the more it eats the brighter it glows and more hostile it becomes. Because the fish are in the void they are all bioluminesent it would start with the small more dim fish but when it eats more and glows more it will begin to eat the brighter larger fish. When it becomes clear as day to see it will begin to attack you as long as you have the lights on, if you have the emergency lights on it is less likely to attack but might still attack. The countermeasures against this creature would be flares bit not ordinary flares, they would be fabricated with Cristiline sulfur and cave sulfur along with lithium to make the flare as bright as possible to make sure the creature will attack the flare instead of you About half way through the game you can unlock a ion cube generator to make ion cubes but will consume power like there's no tomorrow *if there are any more ideas that you think should be in it let me know*

Add like a huge and i mean huge lab of the precursors its surounded by radiation andnyou have to fix it if you whant to go to the other areas you can find the co ordinates to the elevator that jumps you to the sea emperor chamber and all you saw are the bones of the mother emperor

Okay that freaked me out a little.. just you turning around and just see teeth around the submarine.. don't get me wrong I love the ocean but playing this game turns out I have a huge fear of deep oceans.. I can handle 20-30ft up to 100feet deep but if we're talking 1,000s of feet deep is where I freak out.. I have this game played it a few times the graphics are amazing but I have not touched this game in months because of ginormous creatures.. just imagine being alone on a unknown oceanic planet and you don't have a clue what could exist.. that's me when I play this game and I am just jumping out of my own skin when I get near the aurora or deep areas..
