There is a SECRET way to connect Insta360 X4 to Sena

Thank you! This is very helpful. So as I understand it, we can connect: 1. Mobile phone to the Sena (as the primary) 2. X4 to the Sena (as the secondary) 3. Another Sena to the Sena (the usual way Senas pair with each other) And all 3 will work together. So you can speak to your fellow riders on the intercom, and at the same time, give commands to the X4 and record your own voice in the X4 for a much more elegant solution to motovlogging than having a mic wire hanging around. And if you get a call, you can answer it on the Sena, and once it's over, the X4 takes over. This is actually pretty darn brilliant. Also, do share the source for audio mixing update, that's something I'm very keen to know more about.

BTW I read that if the phone and the X4 are connected to the Sena, you can't play music from the phone to the Sena. Now that's not a use case for me but you might want to check that out too.

Make sure that insta 360 x4 is connected to the gps navigation, because the Sena BT directly connect to the second slot.

Another helpful video! Thanks. We generally connect via Mesh. And my Sena has one BT connect to my Zumo XT. So not a big issue for me. But am I right in understanding - If i connect Sean to 360 via BT and then also connected to another rider Sena via BT - both sides audio can be recorded by 360?

I have α Sena 50s and Insta360 X4. I followed your steps and connected. But the camera never responded to the commands via SENA. I would like to ask if I need to have any specific configuration in the SENA settings. What is your opinion?

Try upgrading the firmware of both the camera and the Sena.

Connected X4 to 50S via GPS connection ... could then get Sena 20S to intercom with 50S while still connected to X4. However, X4 would not record ... is that what you explained at the end ... you can connect but it doesn't record? How is that helpful?

It does not record your other biker friends audio when you are connected to them on a mesh, but it will still record your audio cause your helmet is directly connected to the insta 360

Even while testing I connected a 20s to my 10C Evo(which was directly connected to the camera)

That is why you need to keep the second slot of Bluetooth open for the 20s as it directly connects to that and not to the GPS Nav slot. So that is why we connected the insta360 to the GPS slot leaving room for the Bluetooth based Sena.

Anyone tried Insta360 X4 and Bluearmor?

The insta360 X4 is connected to the Sena 50S in slot 3 GPS. The X4 has firmware 1.2.21. When the X4 is connected everything works fine with the Sena. Only the connected phone does not make any sound and there is no mesh possible in the app everything is gray. If I disconnect the X4 from the Sena everything works as it should again. Anyone have an idea how to get this working?

yes currently there are some glitches and hopefully it should be resolved with software /firmware upgrade

Arnav Thank you very much for this brother i have been pulling what little hair i have left out of my head trying to find this I will give it a try 🙂 Are you sure the voice commands and video audio work ok on GPS pairing? I connected the 360 X4 first to second mobile phone pairing and when ever the camera was on it disabled all other Bluetooth communications until I turned the camera off then the other connections returned. Appreciate your help #njw1967

Yes brother don’t worry I tested it before making the video and it works well. The only drawback to this is that when someone else is connected to you through Sena, your insta 360 will only record the audio from your helmet and not your friends. This can probably happen because insta 360 is not able to access the output audio of the mesh (your biker friends audio). To sum it up your audio will not be affected in any way.
