More tips that lets you survive and get loot from ruins: Lanterns: Lanterns are light sources that is WAY better than torches. They have much more durability, they emit better light, they are refuelable and most importantly, they still continues to emit light if you drop it on the ground. Also interestingly, bunnymen aren't aggresive for ham bats, even tough they are meat. Big tentackles are always passive for you. But if you hit them, they spawn a bunch of small tentackles to fight you that has a small dps. When they are killed, in dst; they act like a worm hole that lets you to teleport somewhere and they drop a tentackle spike with %50 chance. But in regular ds, they only have a %50 chance to drop tentackle spikes. More for ruins: Ruins has very uniue resources that you can mine it from statues and broken clockworks (be careful for clockworks). And they are they way to craft very op items. (You'll need some living logs for them). But they can only be crafted with an Ancient Pseudoscience Station. You can see a lot of broken ones here and only one fully repaired one. Broken ones are still can be useful for half of items (More than half in dst) by the way. But for the other items, you have to repair a broken one or find the full repaired one. The fully repaired station will be guarded better so you have to be a way more careful and be following the nightmare cycle (the red lights that spawns nightmare creatures which closes and opens in a cycle). There are also a labyrinth that is full of those white spiders and some chests. You can find the ancient guardian here and fight with it (It does a lot of damage so you have to be very careful).

Oh, haven't really tried the lantern as it takes out a spot from the hands, which I obviously need to swing my bat. But there might be a nice way to use it. I don't trust the bunnymen enough to have anything that even resembles meat close to them! But I did think that the hambat would tick em off. Ah, sweet, I can just chill with my new big tentacle buddies then! I've since this video found more thulecite, I'm guessing that's the resource you're talking about here? I wonder if I'll be able to survive the ruins on my first run, would be cool!

@@Babaganuush The rare gems also can be founded (green, orange and yellow gems) by mining statues etc. And for surviving, I recommend you to be away from the nightmare light sources for especially the nightmare phase. And EVERY creature is dangerous here. Most harmless looking creature can be the most deadly.

8:25 green mushroms when COOKED restore sanity. Blue mushrooms raw restore health but reduce sanity And don't bother with the red ones Hope it helps🤗

I think I've figured out what these do a few times but I seem to forget ALL THE TIME. The red ones though, they're just death caps, no use at all (from what I know)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but red mushrooms can still be used for crockpot recipes. When you find a ring of mushrooms close to your base they can provide a lot of food.
