someone asked - I think it was Nisargadatta - 'how do I help others', and he replied 'there are no others'. compassion arises when there is no separation

There will always be separation because it is part of free will. The right to accept and to reject. We can unite just like we can be our selves. Compassion does not arise when there is no separation, it just weakens you in the face of unavoidable adversity. To deny the right to exist of the other, we deny existence itself. To understand that the other has the right to exist, even your polar opposite, is where compassion arises.

You're looking through a particular lens at the moment. Everybody who is alive or who has ever lived feels like they're "me" or "I." "Me" or "I" is what consciousness feels like when there is experience present. If we're reincarnated, it's going to feel the same as it does right now except you will be looking and feeling through a different lens. "Lens" being your biological makeup and particular experiences (memory), your unique reactivity to stimuli. Most people never realize this because of their conditioned responses to life and cultural upbringing. How anybody ever figured it out is just amazing, really. Realization must hit like a ton of bricks. I still wake up in my own dream almost completely hypnotized by reality and must remind myself and practice being present to even get close to living this way in every moment of every day. Idk, just some thoughts. Alan Watts and Ram Dass, along with a couple others, helped me chisel away at this. I understand intellectually, but I don’t always feel it yet. I still have a lot of practice or need a sudden awakening. I’m okay with the moment-to-moment journey as I fall asleep and wake up walking to the kitchen.

You know them times, where you’ll be doing something during the day.. and you get lost in what you’re doing and you forget you even have a name.. that’s you awakened LOLL but we don’t realise it

Thanks for your detailed thoughts. Just seems worth opening an unknowing as to what is that "separate" entity that may be reincarnated at the start of all thought trees.

I investigated a very similar path of what you’re discussing. In my college years, I experienced a existential realization of this ‘Complete Oneness Cosmic Consciousness’ while on a very high dose of magic mushrooms. That experience basically confirmed everything that I had read and dare I say, always had suspected, or remembered . It took decades of tai chi ,yoga, chanting, fasting, and working in a healing practice for others, to once again achieve that experience sober, and without any external substance’s help. And when it did occur, it occurred spontaneously. Not while I was in the midst of practicing any of the previous mentioned techniques (yet I do believe they were crucial in making me available to it). Now life feels a bit like a costume party. I know who and what I am. Yet I have to play and pretend to be these roles and meet my responsibilities which are crucial to keeping up family life. However, when I’m alone in nature, I get to relax all that and then shine and radiate perfect dynamic bliss. It’s always timeless and innocent, and silent - without any beginning or end. It’s as if that immortal endless consciousness Self comes up to breathe then, and laugh and giggle and shine.✨ ❤ 😊

It's a perceptual shift, visceral in its experiencing. Of course, what he's trying to convey, sounds like the ultimate in ecocentricity, or total narcissism. Try to grasp this message from the following: when you are dreaming (in the sleep state) every one and every facet of the dream, is you. Of course, you can respond that while that may be true, you are not everyone ('There is only you") while you are awake. So, all I can do, is suggest that you consider/ponder the implications and 'own' everything in the dream, as 'only you'.

Why am I me rather than someone or something else? Why this individuated perspective rather than any other one? This question baffles me more than any other - even more than “why is there something rather than nothing”
@AwakeningAwareness_16 ай бұрын
It may be a feeling of location in the body tangled in senses and the brain's interpretation of what is happening. The habit of identification with the body and feeling like a me here, separate from other, is an illusion. The brain is fooled plenty of ways with various illusions. Even when you know that the puzzle is measured to be something, the brain may only be able to see it a certain way.Also, :" the why am I me" is skipping over the first assumption that there is an actual separate you there. The you is part of the flow and expression of life, beautiful and mysterious.

How can I intellectually understand this and know it's probably true, yet this existence looks to be the most unfair, pointless, cruel sick game anyone could ever play with apparently oneself? Where is the peace in this? Knowing that no matter where I search, I will find no one but my lonely self? If I don't exist, then why am I dancing around trying to make a life that is just entertainment for some god? It's no wonder people seeking this off themselves. I'd love to, but there's no point, I'd just come back in some other stupid life.
@AwakeningAwareness_14 ай бұрын
I hear you and feel for you. Yes it can seem frustrating. If in overwhelm perhaps consider accessing professional help to find some immediate support, and maybe take a break from spiritual seeking until there is space or calm to naturally explore deeper. There seem to be waves of highs and lows along this journey.
@tasm8293 ай бұрын
it’s not entertainment for some god, it is expression of possibilities. we are nothing but we are also everything. and thus, we must Be everything. and the beautiful part is that we are just as individual and separate as we are apart. like waves crashing, we dissolve back into oneness and then become separate again, only at our will. you can access the oneness at any moment, every moment! the end of evangelion illustrated it well; all the boundaries that separate everyone dissolved and all was one which meant no suffering, but also…no others. so back into individuals we became, unsatisfied with remaining one like i would imagine we always do. addicted to being many instead of one, though as many, we crave being one. when really…you are always both at once :) you are always one and also many

So for thousands of years people through religions and spiritual texts are pushing you to simply realise that you are completely and utterly alone. No other, no you. All one - Alone. Why the hell do people want to realise there is no 'other'? There's a terrifying and absolute aloneness due to nonduality. I've seen countless individuals who have been repeatedly committed to mental hospitals due to realising nonduality and experience the fact that if if it is all - one, then you are utterly, completely, finally alone.
@zzgeneralsearch10706 күн бұрын
I get you on this. I meditated and felt this so deeply and it was scary. I came to the conclusion that the reason that the singular intelligence does this is because it doesn't want to feel alone. But once this is seen there is no going back
