Beyond the odd bounce out, and the draw, darts is a game that it almost entirely dictated by accuracy not luck. Its not like he's hit the post 10 times and had a bad penalty awarded against him.

I’ve always liked Wade, there’s nothing wrong with having a good time but like Wade once said, Taylor did things right better than anyone. Does practice 10 hrs a day every day win you what Taylor won, but had no personal life ie never over celebrating, bed early etc etc. So it’s a balance and no one better than oneself to manage that balance. You get back what you put in. Wades played for what nearly 30 yrs at a guess, so it’s not the be all and end all of life. He’s now a dad and married, that takes its toll. Look at Gurney, same thing. Even Luke the Nuke, he’s played for over a decade already and he’s hungry for it, no commitment either, so he’s going to do better than say a new dad. Look at Bullyboy, wins the worlds, doesn’t practice as hard and tails off almost immediately. You have to keep at it. It’s when you start to tumble down the rankings, you think, poop, I’d better start getting back to it. Wade is definitely a top 10 player, he’s probably a top 8 player IF he puts the time in again and it looks like he’s ready to do that and good on him. Just leave out the parties fella. I agree there are a set of players who get looked after, but that’s the same with snooker. You need to start owning that stage again to attract those better management peeps. I’m a firm believer in getting what you put in. Ricky Evens being a perfect example, he’s lazy (his words), he’s a top 50 player. You can only rely on experience for so long. Now is the time to knuckle down Wade and get back to where you belong. Top 8 after this years worlds!

The ranking system and prize money are earned by players that have worked hard to be there. If you don't play well you are not going to qualify for certain tournaments. Its not luck that Barny got back in the top 32, Its not luck that Gary Anderson is climbing the ranking, they have earned there place through hard work. James is moaning on what he deserves, just go out there and prove yourself on the dartboard and stop whinging.

Just love James. One of the greatest ever, despite his self damaging and indeed, harsh self criticism. His openess about his mental health issues have ostracised him to a degree from his fellow pros, but that rests with them, not James, as they cannot handle James's sheer openess and honesty. I also agree with him that he is a top ten player. Write him off at your peril, I have a sneaky feeling that, despite his own efforts to prove otherwise, a few more titles are just around the corner. A real legend !!!

Openness and honesty - yeah, often used euphemisms to cover up rudeness, obtuseness and ill feeling. Either say it or don’t say it, he faffed about and it just sounded like whinging. I can only think he believes he should have been in the Premiere League which has 6 wild card choices out of ten. What management team he’s referring to I don’t know as the players are spread around…Modus has Luke H MvG and Gerwyn - ZXF has some good players including Luke Littler - there isn’t a cabal of players getting preferential treatment. If Wade wins this tournament and can go up the rankings he may find a place in the next Players Championship. He needs ranking points and he needs to be consistently beating players like Cross, Dobey, Chisnall, MvG, Dimmy etc

@@drinkwater319 Some fair comments there. He does have a reputation of being arrogant and aloof, but I honestly feel the hierarchy of the game left him out to dry as regard mental health issues. Probably a case of a lack of understanding on their part, more than disinterest, but James certainly felt let down. I hope the organisers take it more seriously within the game. When Luke Littler, just 17, now expresses concern about the relentless schedule and the travelling, (despite his own contracted financial security for life already, regardless of results), then the game needs to listen to their players. We have already seen the mental impact upon players in snooker, especially with the game really taking off in Asia. Solo sports are so dependent upon a positive mental attitude, as you have no one else to help contribute to your performance, and, as in any solo sport, you are only as good as your last game. All of this has heavily influenced James Wade's demeanour, which, I agree with you, does make him somewhat disliked by some of his fellow pros. Yes, they too, have the same pressures, and the sport has financially been kind to James over the years. Nevertheless, he is entitled to support, to help him tackle his mental health concerns, and allow him to compete on a level playing field. He has at least another ten years at the top, if he puts his mind to it, ... no pun intended. Let's hope he focuses more upon his game, getting the practice in. Sleeping and eating properly, (his visible weight problems clearly evidenced over these last few years). I hope he has relaxation high on his priority list, an ability to "switch off" from the game and enjoy life itself. An "on form" Wadey shall always be good for the game, and I hope some of his fellow pros can extend a hand to him. Just saying, ....... but thank you for replying to my earlier upload.
