The fact that Ryan didn't realized that the kidnapper is the person from the very beginning and the rotting body in the attic is the guys mother, that would have been cooler if he connected the dots. Which is also the reason why the guy snapped when the protagonist's mother scolded the guy, he literally experienced the same thing.

EXACTLY! The mister is the one who killed his mother with the hammer at the beginning. He kidnapped the sister and the brother, because he wanted to shelter them, since he discovered their mother was abusing them and didn't really plan to kill them or hurt them (that's also why the sister told the brother "the mister does everything I tell him to"). He was a scarred man who was abused by his mother, became traumatized and decided he would have been better at taking care of the children, compared to their own mother. And as you said, that's also the reason why he snapped on their mother and killed her. Man...there are some fvcked up parents in the world.

@@xy9118 the beginning of the game shows the scene of the mister and his abusive mom. Notice the subtitles call him “sarao.” There’s also a diary in a room of the house that belonged to Sarao’s mom talking about how she doesn’t know why she’s so violent towards him and that he looks more like his father growing up and that may be the reason. The scene shows sarao killing his mom and then later you connect the dots and it’s the mister who hid his mom’s body in the attic. So it’s like a similar trauma

So, to sum up this story, the mister is the character you play as in the beginning of the game when he takes the hammer to his mother. Ryan completely missed this lol. The kidnapper’s name is Sarao and in his house you can find his mom’s diary. She says that she doesn’t know why she is violent towards her son other than the fact that he looks like his father as he grows up. Sarao had enough of the abuse I guess and took her out. I don’t believe that Sarao had any desire to harm the kids, he saw their situation as similar to his own and thus wanted to help them perhaps. The clown is nothing but a figment of Renya’s imagination. An excuse for why his sister went missing and to cope with being alone. The reason Renya smiles after seeing his mother being taken down, is because he saw her for what she really was, an abusive monster. He was happy because now she is gone and can no longer harm him or his sister. The reason Sarao snaps is due to his experience with his own mother, which is why he struck her down after he was pushed.

Ryan got the true ending,which is by getting their mom killed,the sister now only have renya to take care of since his sister was crazy for her mom's attention but renya wanted his sister's attention,you can see that the sister doesn't care much about renya when he told his sister that he's here too(exam paper scene)so that explains why renya is smiling at the end
