If you interact with the number in the bathroom our character will call it, there are newspapers scattered on the floor of the small alley netween the laundromat amd the other store, you can ask about the incidents in a newspaper by holding it in your hand while talking to someone Oh...and you can also open both bathroom doors using the same key

Since you seemed a bit confused on the ending, she killed the guy because that was her ex. He locked her in the laundromat, expecting her to die, but she didn't of course, and when she got out she went to seek revenge, which was to kill Louis, and even after that, she snapped. She saw others live with something she couldn't have. You also had the option to kinda do some detectve worke if you decided to look around and investigate. loved your gameplay!!!

Off hand, I'd say they either were possessed before the fire or, in a desperate attempt, offered their soul up to escape. They're definitely not alive by any definition.
