A reclaim is a "weird shell jump" that lets you jump on a shell and kick it at the same time, letting you either reclaim it or hit a pow or something. Not exactly sure where to do the weird shell jump there but I think what you did was cheese.

So depending on Nintendo releases (future MM, Cart releases etc) I'm guessing you'll hit a mil sometime between Nov 2022 and March 2023. The reason Japanese SMB2 levels are labeled "USA" is just because the official title of the game in Japan is "Super Mario USA." Their SMB2 is our Lost levels, and our SMB2 is their "Super Mario USA".
