I found it a bit funny that EVERYONE, forgot Driver San Francisco: Narrative driven, Open-world game, with amazing arcade handling, unique multiplayer, freaking NEW GAME+ in a RACING GAME, and everyone's first thought when someone asks 'what narrative driven game comes to your mind among racing games?', 99% of the people says NFS, which has a story only on the side so that you have a reason to race instead of just, you know, racing for the heck of it. Edit: I forgot to say that basically all of the Driver games were narrative driven semi-open-world racing game, but still, they just got forgotten.

Honestly i'm always stoked when i see developers leave the big dog AAA companies to create their own studio, similiar to what some DICE employees did and founded Embark Studios (The Finals). That way they do have the chance to break out of some of the upper executives plans with creating new games.

I'm never buying another Forza game in general. I was way overhyped by FH5 and was massively disappointed- not just by its release, but also by the Horizon 10th anniversary update. For several reasons it was evident that they don't respect what Horizon used to be. I'm done with Forza entirely, but recently I started branching out to more unique games like Omori and the Persona series. That's been some of the most fun I've had gaming in YEARS.

I just want a game where you can fully work on your cars like in car mechanic sim. Fully realistic upgrades and sounds. Also add car meets where you can get out of your car and walk around to look at everyone else’s build. Have a dyno to play around on inside your garage. Be able to buy different houses and garage sizes to display your best rides for others to see. And also make the physics 1:1. I just want a hyper realistic car game with the most customization anyone has ever seen.

The thing that went wrong with Motorsport is not the fact that people hated the progression system as a whole but it was ridiculous. You had to level up each cars while the game is a close circuits/pro racer based theme and also people had a life. Many of us wanted to buy a car modify it and go race. While a story driven open world game similar to NFS makes more sense to limit customizations and unlock them as you progress. Still to this day the devs behind Motorsport are making bad decisions, online races are locked behind a weekly rotation while most prefer to race C,B,A and S class. They should have made all classes available from the get go. Also the new maps are not part of the rotation online. A lot of bugs are occurring and customizations missing.

Really depends on how they do the first year after release. Looking back at all the recycling FH5 did I'm not spending anymore money on forza games. If the team that had a hand in that is gone maybe I'll change my mind on FH6. On the other hand if that team is making a new forza horzion clone it'll have the same fate FH5 did

Also, we can't really rely on big companies at all. Money is their greatest concern, the principle of capitalism, is that a company must increase its gains for it to stay on top, it must always gain more and more money, which of course by default means that it will inevitably fail. The only game devs we can count on consistently, is AA and indie game devs, who make games to have food put on their table (game no good? no food) and not to please the shareholders. Smaller devs are carrying the gaming community, and so If an amazing racing game is released, I won't be expecting it from AAA devs.

Not looking forward to that new game, simply because of one person - Mike Brown. This man has singlehandedly (imo) ruined Forza Horizon with his "obsession", for the lack of a better word, with battle royale, multiplayer focused crap, recycled cars and overall lackluster updates. Ever since he was in charge as a creative director, FH4 and especially FH5 have dropped massively in quality and enjoyability. But ever since he left, the updates for FH5 specifically got better with the actual new-to-Forza cars and better content imo. Still it doesn't save the cringy characters and boring map, but hey.

Forza and Unbound both have 1 bug problem. Which is that after the story mode everything gets boring so quickly, The Crew Motorfest is the only game which does good after the main story. And multiplayer is for homosexuals 🫵

I heard they left because Microsoft brought in lots of the LGBTQ brigade with silly colour hair and facial piercings and the game went a bit silly forcing players to choose their pronouns and stuff like that at the start of Forza Horizon 5. Remember that? You couldn't continue the game until you chose your pronouns. And it didn't make any difference to the game at all. They had to edit the music on Forza Horizon 4 so the soundtrack sounded like a skipping CD. They had to remove words like "God" "High" and silly stuff like that. I heard the older people working there didn't like it all and thought it was daft.

However there’s only so many times you can buy the same car in a different racing game and drive it around the same track with slightly upgraded visuals. You need motivation to do anything to feel a part of the world you are driving in and to have actual satisfying rewards. The satisfying rewards also extends to the multiplayer component which in my opinion is untapped potential in the racing game genre. All of this should also be pushing the cars as the main attraction of the game and the story or theme of the game should emphasize why you should care about them and why they are important.

I personally had a similar feeling while playing Most Wanted 05, where all races felt visually and mechanically the same, and I just picked the same cars I enjoyed without really caring about any them. The urge to watch the silly cutscenes was the only that kept me around. However, games can rely on other engaging aspects aswell, such as varying track layouts, rewarding exploration (for open world games), good sense of progression, or maybe just a chaotic unpredictable nature like that of the Hot Pursuit series. You can make a good story for a racing game, but I feel like other areas deserve more love from the developers

In my opinion, Microsoft is holding back the Horizon series as they prefer the casual and family friendly audience. Probably the reason why Horizon won’t have the same story progression as Need for Speed as it’s a different audience group. It will be interesting to see how Maverick Games can pull off an open world racing game.

If it's any good and if it has offline single-player mode, I'll probably buy it, but mainly because I enjoy driving around an open-world map. The original Test Drive Unlimited had about as much "story" as I want in a racing game, "Here's an island, here are some cars, have at it!"

I still HIGHLY recommend looking at the trailers for that though - if they can deliver everything that the Steam page is promising, it will put a lot of triple A studios to shame. I think another story driven racing game would be fun, we use to get a ton of them back in the day (PS2, Dreamcast, Xbox & 360). I feel like if they studied NFS underground 2 and 2015 they could do good. Both Underground 2 and 2015 felt like we were the character, the actors spoke to you directly and made it seem like "you" the player were involved in everything. Most "Story based" racers in the past just told a story about your character or you and you followed along with it. Now a days we have better tech to do more and make it more of a journey instead of a play along.

Hopefully the game will have body kits (generic like in The Crew - made by them or 50/50 - half generic ones and half real ones - at least for the JDM cars like the ones used in Fast and Furios 1, 2, 3), aftermarket wheels (I want real brand wheels and not like in The Crew - just chrome ones or not having the option to select another paint type: gloss, matte, satin), performance upgrades (installing a performance exhaust changes the sound of the car, as well as installing a turbo for jdm whips or a supercharger for american muscle cars - let's hope that the car sounds will be really good). Changing tge drivetrain will be cool - I like the fact that I can make a 4WD Evo into a RWD drift car like in Tokyo Drift. I love some of the options that are in Gran Turismo 7's Tuning Shop and in general how the menu is. Hopefully the game can have interior customization like in The Crew and even further like how it was in Juiced 2 and Midnight Club L.A. - the ability to install a custom steering wheel - MOMO/SPARCO style wheels like the JDM cars in Fast and Furios movies had (the ones in CarX Drift are also a good example) and also some clasic looking ones but custom at the same time for american muscle cars - something like the one that is on Dom's classic Charger from Fast and Furios. Some custom sports seats would be nice (some generic ones I don't care). And of course like in The Crew franchise and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown - fully custom interior that you can customize exactly as you wish - the trims, fabrics, colors for them, for the stitches - like in the Aston Martin or Ferrari configurator or like how it's done when you go to a tuning shop like West Coast Customs or Brabus, ABT, Hamann Motorsport - they can customize your interior as you wish if you have imagination. So basically we will have some tools/options so that we can customize the interior as we wish not just 1 or 2 geberic options to choose from. In terms of licenses for tuning parts I only care about the wheels, brakes (Brembo, Endless, Wildwood) and only some real/licensed body kits (as I said before at least for the JDM whips especially for the ones that where in Fast and Furios movies: the VeilSide one for DK's 350z from Tokyo Drift, the VeilSide one for Han's RX-7 from Tokyo Drift, the C-West body kit for the RX-7 would be nice too, the kit for the Evo 9 from Tokyo Drift, of course the one for the orange Supra from the first Fast and Furios movie and the one for the green GSX Eclipse, the one used on the R34 Skyline GT-R in 2Fast2Furios and the Nismo Z-Tune kit, maybe some Top Secret body kits and a few Liberty Walk, Mansory and Pandem/Rocket Bunny ones idk). I am also hopping that we will have dealerships or at least one and a custom auto shop where we can go to customize our cars (like a generic West Coast Customs, RDBLA, ABT, Hamann Motorsport, Mansory auto shop style or how the customization center of Ferrari and Lamborghini looks like - with wheels on the wall, brake calipers, exhaust system/tips, examples of custom seats and steering wheel and fabric options for interior, paint/wrap samples on display) so that we don't customize the cars in the garage - that will be just for showing off the cars, walking around them, enter in the cars and select which one to drive and start it, rev it). I know I am asking for a lot! But wouldn't that be so cool? Who agrees? ✌️😁❤️🔥🔥

i just want another horzion 1-2 game that actually made you feel attached to your cars since you had to work for them and spent time with them. i feel like with the current horizon games you just get them too easily and it really ruins the game for me atleast. lets take nightrunners for a example, you really feel attached to your wheels since you built it up from the bottom and actually spent time with it. now i would like if they actually added car maintenance since i havent really seen any game properly do it. i want my car to break down and having to order parts from other people to fix it up. really makes it worth actually having a car, also seeing other peoples souped up cars will feel more awesome since everyone is in the same boat and have to fix it constantly.

I'm a late joiner for racing car games. So im probably not qualified in saying this but for me in the games I've played I've always gone back to the crew two. I mean the map itself is huge and I like the fact I can start in Los Angeles and then drive to Vegas. Or from San Francisco to new York in a bugatti. Not to mention you have two houses that can store all types of vehicles and look at them sit inside rev the engine put the windows down. And of course even they can be annoying but seeing pedestrians and so many cars in the cities just makes the game feel alive you know? Would have loved if motofest had kept the crew two map and added the hawaiian islands. Yeah the handling is not the best on crew two and the graphics aren't that good but it's like a six year old game now lol. Loved the jobs you did is well as the stories that was quality. And just the other day when u was crusing and I had stop behind the barriers cuz a train was passing by ... I mean maybe to others it's meh but I loved that and again felt like the world was alive. I'm looking forward to test drive solar crown but I'm also cautious at the same time. Tho there's one thing for sure is I will always go back to the crew two just cuz it's just relaxing 😌. But that's just me. I'm not qualified cuz I've only been playing racing games over the last year or so but yeah crew 2 will always be my favourite 😌

I've went back to playing Horizon 4 again. I don't even have Horizon 5 installed anymore it's that bad. The map, roads, physics and even places to park for car shows and cruises is just miles better than Horizon 5, especially on a wheel setup. This doesn't give me much hope for Horizon 6.

Something id like to see in an open world racing game: sometimes me and my friends dont wanna race we just wanna cruise but at the same time we want lil extra fun bits to do so what i propose... in open world racing games... a gas tank and gas gauge for your automobiles and u and your buddies are driving down the highway and uh oh tim needs to fill up.. as a crew yall can all exit off and fill up together or... yall just get on... yall both need to fill up your car or truck... meet up at the gas station and bam.. idk it just sounds so fun and if anyone complains about it well make it optional jesus 😅

I really wanted to enjoy Unbound but I can, I don't care for MP so all the new stuff is lost on me and I really dislike the boosting and mini boost stuff, just over complicated things. Even after like 10hrs I had no drive to go back and play, shoutout gamepass for saving me some money

We're in need of a bit more story driven racing games. Every game just feels like horizon now with some form of racing festival. Motorfest and solar crown ive avoided/will be avoiding because they've done nothing new or interesting.

Forza is so stale an boring not enough customization the map is very small gets boring quick the crew franchise just blew the bag copying forza when the whole idea of the game was being all of America even though the driving physics were awful an lastly need for speed is good for like the first 2 weeks then easily forgettable we need all these games in one

Whatever it is it needs to have realistic physics. That's litterally the only reason for Horizons succes and it has no competition. There is no other open world game with realistic physics
