If you were being chased, I'd imagine the last thing you'd do would be to leap around erratically. Well, that is exactly what gazelle's have been observed doing in the wild. Why? Just because...

When I was in 6th grade, we would sometimes get multiple gym classes together to play dodgeball. There was a kid who I think was in 8th grade who would dodge and throw balls while doing a flip. It was so impressive, I didn't realize until much later that that was a very stupid thing to do in that situation.

May be a bit of TMI here, but I have done this, however the latter two were entirely accidental. I was holding in a sneeze for an hour on the bus ride from work, mostly due to trying to prevent the spread of the flu which I had at the time. As soon as I was off of that bus, I sneeze so violently that I contracted the muscles in my back and abdomen, which caused me to simultaneously shit and, as you put it, jizz at the same time. With 100% honesty, I nearly fucking passed out from overstimulation. 10/10, would shnizzt myself again.

White tailed deer make themselves easier to chase by displaying their white tails so that they can lead predators away from the herd. Mother birds make themselves easier to catch by stumbling around on the ground to lead predators away from their nests. So gazelles aren't the only ones.

When you were talking about how predators give up when Gazelles style for some reason it reminded me of some really old videos I saw years ago of how pigeons would avoid hawks by just dropping out of the sky by several feet and then fly in the opposite direction and completely mess up the hawk diving directly for them because the hawks can't just drop sky and turn like them. I've never seen this for myself but if this is true, I'd love to see what you can find out about this and make a video out of it. Please. I'm from NY and we're infested with pigeons lol. I'm curious.

I was actually thinking this, but for the reason people really do high-step in football. it is to prevent someone being able to dive and barely touch the back of their heel and tripping them. If a cheetah or lion lunges, they break all forward momentum, so leaping and avoiding that lunge, even if it slightly slows you down, does make sense.

Or because it's slightly confusing to big cats, like cats fixated on a yarn ball. It will delay the cats due to confusion long enough for their warning message to get to the rest of the herd. Cats will just freeze until they have a certain angle of attack, it is how they hunt. Hopping around can only help them by making the 'angle of attack' thing much more confusing. Also, it looks a heck of a lot like dogs play pouncing. If they also have dog predators, it may serve as a playful distraction making the dogs momentarily forget they are trying to kill the things. Either that or they are symmetra mains, and the bunny hopping is out of habit :)

The Spetznas movement isn’t just to demoralize, it makes their movements highly unpredictable thus harder to hit. A target in motion you lead slightly but imagine pulling the trigger only to find your target isn’t running upright but is now somersaulting under where you fired, or flipping through the air and shooting at back at you. They train in inefficient movements to such a degree that they are able to move, comparatively to us, efficiently, if that makes any sense lol

So I was play 7 days to die while watching this video, and i was jumping in order to try to spot bird nests in the game, and it made me realize a good reason why Gazelles might be jumping like that. It seems like the higher they jump, the better view of there surroundings they would have, which would give them a advantage when trying to escape a predator. So it would seem there is a evolutionary reason for that behavior, and im willing to bet its for more than one reason that jumping would give them a advantage in escaping... See what you did, you made me think about this and distracted me from my game lol.

A lot of their predators hide in the grass. I imagine it allows them to see from an angle other than the one the predator is used to hiding in. In the military, line of sight is used to advance, and it would really put a damper on the activity, if the soldiers in the enemy camp can bounce 12 feet into the air. lol

i think the jumping and farting thing is due to the same muscle groups being used in contradictory ways, at least that's if biology is anything to go by. i tried the jumping and farting thing as a youth, didn't shit myself but i did feel like i'd been molested for about 12 minutes while my anus tried to figure out why it had to pass gas in such ferocious fasion.

From what I remember from my uni days is that the experts are in pretty much of an agreement that gazelles are jumping to demonstrate to predators that they are not worth chasing them. This is because many predators actually select their target during the chase and not before. There is an exception to this and that is cheetahs, they do not do the jumping behaviour when a cheetah chases them and that is because cheetahs actually select their target before the chase starts.

The problem is... he would have to be doing a backflip and falling for a great distance. So, while yes it is possible, no that’s not what happened. What Tommy did defied even the Magnus Effect.

It’s like the Empty Fort Strategy. You leave your gates wide open in a “I’m so confident I’ll defeat you I’ll leave my front door open” way and it psychs your enemy so bad they just leave. Regardless if you can actually defend yourself or not.

They wish they was kangaroo's. Actually remove the antlers n shorten the front legs and they look so similar. Now add the fur n antlers to the big red kangaroo and you have a Beast.
