Scraping VAR isn't the fix, because the call would've still been wrong. The problem is the people. Training, accountability, clear communication, visibility. These are the fixes. Instead, the PGMOL just apologizes and hides behind fining the managers and players when they speak out. It's an absolute joke.

The problem is VAR has improved the game in terms of the finer margins, but people expect it to be perfect. However there is still the factor of human error to account for. In my opinion VAR has massively improved decision making, but if you consider the amount of errors before VAR and the errors after VAR there is a massive improvement in terms of accuracy.

What I can’t work out is how all of the big leagues, champions league, World Cup etc all have VAR, yet there’s never any of the controversy over decisions - sure, someone will be annoyed if a decision goes against their team, but apart from that decisions don’t come under so much scrutiny. How come every week, our VAR is constantly criticised and getting key decisions wrong? With the Liverpool game, I can somewhat agree with the Jones red, but going 1-0 up with the Diaz goal completely changes the game and defensively they were solid, but instead VAR mess up, spurs go 1-0 up and the game changes completely. Something needs to change within the personnel and the process more than the actual VAR.

I think the var and ref should function like they do in the nfl, if a choice is made, then the ref stops the game and address the choices made and perhaps explains quickly why the said choice was made(probably isn`t necessary for every single choice but controversial ones like the var with Diaz should be addressed right away.) also the current refs, and those teaching the var need to be fired, get better refs in fire refs like Simon Hopper right away after such a long treat of terrible decisions made in an important match, his refereeing caused the entire integrity of the match to be put into question, i also think that if a match`s integrity is brought into question then the rematch needs to be replayed, and whatever bookings etc that need happen in the original match need to be removed. I`m not angry Jack, just disappointed you ended the streak of Andy losing the player the episode is about.

The first Jota card was definitely not a yellow at all, he was running behind his man to the other side and his foot literally clipped Jota's knee the slightest bit then he went down like a sack of spuds, I agree that the late challenge afterwards was a card but he shouldnt have been on a yellow already at that point After the VAR realised it was a mistake and the goal should have been awarded, most other teams would let Liverpool walk it into the net but honestly Spurs were fighting for their life because they hadn't won a game at home against us for about 6 years before that and were panicking about not being able to win, clearly even when we had 9 men 😂 crazy that they dont think theres any way to rectify it but theyll still acknowledge that it was an egregious error, release the audio of the absolutely shambolic VAR team scrambling around uselessly, with only one person on the whole communication line that had any idea what was going on, and basically just say "sorry guys, we really tried our best and hope you'll forgive us for ruining the integrity of football 🥺"

Honestly that spurs game was a joke. Jones's wasn't a red card, he won the ball and slipped on the follow through. Jota's first yellow was never a yellow because, he didn't touch him! And the offside was just embarrassing. They said it was onside and the ref just did his own thing and disallowed it, they had more than enough time to rectify it, the var team were literally saying "stop the game" and nothing happened. It's embarrassing honestly. The fact Macalister could get fined for his comment is insane. Like alisson said, they're prisoners in their own mouths.
