Could be actually be a cursed used for good if able to be controlled. That cursed sword seems like a hilarious small piece for drama in dnd, Okay, so a player gets this sword(or we make it a dagger or shortsword), most hilariously if it is the rogue of the party. then sessions down the line, the party gets this key that is needed for a heist mission (or something of sort), gives it to the rogue as the rogue is often the key master of the group due to them also being the most proficient in lockpicking, then they lose the key as they forgot the rogue had the cursed weapon as it hasn't been so crucial throughout the campaign so far
