there's just a lot of new names that either don't understand how much lag happens in a full lobby or fails to back out of bad moves I mention this during the stream itself, people don't back out or take their lag into consideration when racing which leads to this mess, not to mention why people just don't want to call others out, including Broughy, or wait when it should be obvious. Maybe it's wasn't for them, but on my side there were things that was wait worthy. before people cry "why aren't they binned" iirc there were only 2-3 people with the power to bin, Broughy included. It is possible they just did not see incidents worth binning for. We don't bin for incompetence. That will just breed an even more toxic environment. But yeah people need to chill and not be overly competitive in something that's meant to be chill like random races. also GG Brough good battle but you won so I am unhappy

@@swift8821 could be something to consider, but given how easy it is to get the 1322+ role to join these sessions, idk if role-keeping would be a viable solution, especially for those who race clean but are only on PH when broughy is on

Even if you’re not aware of the lag bubble and all, there is no way they didn’t see that they shunted Broughy off the track and realize/understand that might have been them. I can understand the first, but not the latter. Can’t hide behind the « I didn’t know » excuse they just lacked courtesy and sense

@@konishiwoi if you don't frequent the server, or not when it's busy like during Brough streams, lag hits may not be that obvious as you claim. Take it from me, me being regular on PH helped me identify when they made their own mistake and where I lagged into them. Experience lets you learn that bit, and it's more the case with a busy, European-populated server (given the higher ping)

Is it possible to implement a 3-strike ban that reduces over time (or successful events completed)? Given that newer drivers may not have experience with the servers or the driving standards required, there is the opportunity for them to obtain strikes, and subsequently determine if they need to take breaks after receiving strikes, or face the potential for a fixed-term ban. If you wanted to make it really obvious to well-behaved drivers, could coloured glowing neons be used to indicate potential danger?

There was a time when track behaviour was bad in Random All then it changed for the better but recent RA races have deteriorated again. I well remember what it was like in open GTA V races; the experience was often far from fun. Of course this is still a much better experience (nobody is deliberately taking anyone out) but it does seem some people are pushing it a bit too much and clearly not calling out themselves. I appreciate that sometimes with the lag people don't know but not only with crashes involving Broughy but also some just ahead of Broughy we witnessed for which nobody seemed to take responsibility. I hate to be that guy but games are more enjoyable when people play by the same rules. That's why no rules races rarely happen.

I have been watching these races from Project Homecoming for a couple of years. After seeing how smoothly some of the cars that have handling flags in vanilla GTA are better on the PH. Servers. I have to tip my hat to their dedication and abilities. Once again. Thank you for sharing with us.

2:56 Paredzams did wait properly, Freakysneaky however did not, but it is debatable cause Broughy was already rolling around when he hit him. 7:00 El Zeta did not care and just went. (Now that I'm looking at this one again, it may not have been El Zeta's fault, on the map it looked like he slowed down but then someone came in and slammed him into Broughy, I think Mark cause Freakysneaky was a bit further behind.) 8:37 Inferiator was turning around and probably didn't want to block the road too much so they did a many point turn while close to the wall. 11:53 Here we see El Zeta again, probably crashed. 20:35 Lol Turbo, probably was a bit of a lag bubble where he didn't see it.

Damn it appears I made quite the impression, it seems I'm the one who sent him flying. So here's what happened: I got absolutely launched into him by someone else, I hoped that whoever it was would wait for both of us but that race half the lobby had no names on my end so I didn't know who hit me and I couldn't call out. Seemed like a pretty hefty lag hit so I'm surprised noone waited. It was a pretty good jump tho

I thought that might be the case considering you hit him while driving a lowrider. Unless there was some new meme cars on the server I didn't know about, I didn't think it was possible for a lowrider to be going so fast on it's own to have launched Broughy like that and thought either it was extreme lag or you must have been launched yourself.

Select style is much preferred, the fun of random but with more depth to it and some actual close racing. Random All you could just list everyone's cars at the start and aside from crashes know Mild's going to win. Also the randomness means results on a bell curve, so like 80% of the time you'll be bang on average, 10% lucky fast cars, 10% bogey. That said, no "wee-woo"s this one, putting at the rare end for these.

I would happily park myself in the "Random Select" is the best iteration of this, because I favour skill over luck, but even for a random all, there was some properly abysmal driving at work. Nice work, Broughy, for sticking through it and getting 12th. Also, my commiserations to A7X for dozering his first race. Looking on the bright side, you can hardly finish lower from now on, only up from here.

My favourite would be Random selects but on tracks that have a percentage of offroad, so the "best" cars are not always the best. Maybe 25-30% off-road, just enough to spanner in the works lol.

Is there a way to make the random all go in a particular order? I think it would be neat to do a race where every lap is with a car faster than the last. After a few laps you will probably start running into back markers who haven't done as well. It would be very much based on skill.

there is a mode to set the car selection the same order for everyone, but not one where every lap is in a faster car -- the effort to code such a thing and to determine what "faster" means (since can be track dependant) isnt worth it

At this point I'd recommend ditching the 1322+ role and using the normal entry lists for the rest to ensure more PH regulars join for this stuff. The players who literally only join for your streams are the ones least accustomed to the lag and rules, and make the lobby a bloody nightmare.

Would a fully ghosted random all be worth giving a go one time? With the lag bubbles it's surely difficult to have proper racing even with decent skill and intentions, especially in random all where everyone tends to converge in the same section on a short track in differently paced cars. Not sure it would lose that much without proper overtaking as most happen because of difference in car capabilities anyway.

There could be a middle ground between random all and random all select. For example, a random set of 60 cars is selected for a race and the players get random 30 of these cars.

In my opinion Random More is are a nice combination of luck, skill and strategy, while Random All has become rather chaotic as of late, the rules feel more like suggestions at this point.
