So what do you think about Utah? More cool places to live in America: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5rXlJ1pet5katU

After a failed marriage I drifted around the West for a couple of years. Extended Stay hotels and monthly rentals. Just a Jeep and a couple of bags of clothes. After months of aimlessly wandering I came into Montana and stayed in Missoula for about a year. It was the first time I had ever been in Montana, but it felt like what I needed at the time. I filled my days biking and walking along the Clark and fishing and kayaking the numerous lakes and rivers. This might not be everyone's idea of a grand adventure, but I sure hope to do it again someday. Before I take up the rocking chair anyway! :)

Missoula is a cool little town, with so many beautiful mountain trails around. Sounds like it was good therapy... :)

Utah has the friendliest people on the planet. Long cold winter in the North. Summers are great. Need to have an outdoor passion... skiing, snow mobile, something. The answer is to have 2 places for the seasons IMO. Lots of chickens in Utah.. it's true they are prepared for the worst. I am here for the summer and love it. Just don't think I can handle the winter.

Winters aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I love them. Having seasonal places for the best of both worlds would be awesome!

I found Utah the most beautiful state because of the variety of landscapes. I spent a week in Provo and another week in Ogden just investigating what was out there. It was the beginning of the fall, very colorful state with both green areas and desert. I found they put too many restrictions on alcohol sales, and flies roam as if they owned the place. One thing I did learn after scouting the southwest for several months is that I prefer dense green and rain, so I came back to the southeast.

I love dense and green too, but I can't take the heat and bugs. Thanks for the tip about the flies, I'd have to check it out that time of year. These stories just show how important it is to go and try out a place before making a big commitment to live there. Thanks for sharing... :)

Diane, that was such a fun tour through my home state! You do such a terrific job with your videos. I love how diverse and scenic the landscape is. There is always something new. It was wonderful meeting up with you and Ted and I agree, long lost friends! We'll have to repay the visit in your neck of the woods. PS, thanks for the shout-out! :)

Utah is such a beautiful state with so many surprises, I'll bet it's even more amazing in the summer. And yes, definitely stop by next time you're in Tahoe... :)

@@SippyCupAdventuresThanks Darin! That was so much fun! I've been doing short FB vids, but nothing big on YT. Your vids are always money! :)

GREG! Was thinking at the beginning of the video, about how cool it would have been if you hooked up with Greg and Melanie, and you did! I am jealous! I have a pretty good idea of Utah's landscape because of Greg! What a great tour. I thought in the allotted time you guys had, you did a really good job of encapsulating these towns. Finally, of all the trance and EDM in the world, you listen to a Star Trek podcast?? 🤣I wanna party with you guys 😆🥳

LOL, we'll have to get to work on that! Meeting in person was great, and thanks, I loved being out on the road again, exploring this great country of ours... :)

Maybe you should consider an RV with Starlink. It is available for RV's now. You could buy cheap undeveloped properties in a couple of states and just put the RV there. A good RV can be hard to find, but they are still available in the secondary market or as a conversion. I am converting a 16ft Isuzu NPR boxtruck, The furniture is pretty basic(mostly 2x4's) but it also has a minisplit and solar. A three week conversion so far and it is close to ready. Utah is nice, but typically pretty dry. The Mormons are nice if they aren't "Jack Mormons" that is the kind that go out drinking and doing not good things and call themselves by that label.
@dorkladytravels2 жыл бұрын
An RV with Starlink would be amazing, but I'll probably have to make do with car camping out of my SUV to see more places. Your conversion sounds cool, where's the KZbin channel on that? Didn't know about the Jack Mormons, they sound like they might be kind of fun... ;)

Utah has always been clean. As a Utah native I've been told by outsiders that they feel as if they could eat off the street! Then I moved to the pigsty of the U.S.A., Alabama. It was nothing for friends and family to dump their ashtrays in my driveway or throw their fast food bags out their car windows. I miss living in a clean environment......

Yikes, that's awful! I treasure living in clean places too.

In Salt Lake City Valley, most things are not closed on Sundays. The liquor stores are though. Heber is pretty, but boring.
