DIDNT MAKE INTRO SO HERE’S INTRO THROUGH TEXT new sidearm “sniper rifle” is from crucible it’s called anonymous autumn. It rolls with rangefinder which you can pair alongside the new mod that increases your zoom. Pairing these together increases your zoom all the way up to 14 (which is broken for sidearms). Zoom is broken for sidearms/SMG’s because it lets you hit shots way further and grants less ghost bullets 🥸 Thank you for reading

​@@ROFLWAFFLELAWL4it's because the rangefinder nerfs were overhyped by content creators. Zoom doesn't give you *damage dropoff range* but it still gives effective range by giving you: - Less recoil (recoil is flat based on zoom level so more zoom means less effective recoil) - More AA dropoff range - More acuracy dropoff range It's why low range HCs with rangefinder feel so funny, they'll be giving you free crits that do 50 damage. Think of new Rangefinder like the exact same as before, but with a damage only debuff at longer ranges, thats all.

FYI Drang has 13 zoom by default and since it's crafted you can put the zoom mod on it for 14 too

Zoom value is tied to accuracy cone length and sight picture so it can make a weapon feel super sticky even at ranges it normally wouldn't. It doesn't bring forward your range fall off at all but it extends out that AA cone and can make aiming for the head much easier.

The advice I got the last time I felt like touching a Sidearm for a few seconds (and then going back to any other weapon) was don't aim. Point center mass, don't bother for headshots, pray they don't find a ledge to hide behind while you spam away, and probably hipfire more than you usually do. As for why ADS has more recoil than hip? Only someone at Bungie knows for sure. Or ignore most of that and plug in a controller.
