I was thinking a pressure differential caused by the lighting strike. I've heard positive air pressure paint booths error and have an extreme negative air flow and it sounds like that. Edit: The pressure would have been caused by the a/c unit, so regardless your right.

The whistling noise is the fire drawing air through the door jams. Fires need oxygen. The house had to breath for the negative pressure that the fire is using. You’ll hear the same thing on a flue fire or a creosote fire in a chimney.

Me being a firefighter, were trained to us a minimum amount of water possible and with attic fires, its a lot easier since heat rises however when you dont know where the fire is, it can be challenging to use as little water as possible. But i wish you the best of luck noah! Ill be praying!

To be quite honest, to put out a fire in the attic with a fire extinguisher Is hard, not impossible, but very hard and puts u into a dangerous situation. That noise is prob the smoke either entering through a small hole from the attic to the roof inside the house or exiting through a hole out of the roof

From my experience with my fire department that noise sounds like an extreme intake and forceful out push of air that helped the fire to move fast and burn hotter

Yeah I hear that a lot, all it means is essentially when the lightning hit it caused the fire and it supercharged it so that it essentially took a huge breath of air it's a crazy thing to actually hear in person

HVAC tech here: you might want to invest in a smoke detector in your ductwork, if you request one they can put it in. It works similarly to a switch. I personally recommend a system sensors brand, or an Edward signaling brand. We use it in commercial applications in so many stores. Once it senses smoke it will kill the entire system. Sorry for your losses man, I’ve done so much restorative work in the HVAC field. You really hate to see it. Once again I’m sorry for your losses friend.

As a young firefighter this video is pretty cool for me, and then I think about that this was someone's house, someone's home, and all the memories and personal items that were in that house and it's a lot less cool. Sorry for your loss man
