I have to watch this every once in a while just to remind myself how much I suck on guitar and how beautiful of an instrument it can be when someone really knows how to play!

I've watched this so many times I can sing it from first note till last with all the solos. And you know what? Stochelo's solo is the easiest to remember. Very catchy.
@hamzak21813 жыл бұрын
Stochelo has the most melodic phrasing I believe. The other Gypsy guitarists are very technically skilled but they have a tendency to showboat too much which takes away the musical aspects from it.

Wow! Debarre's solo is awesome. Love the great mix of Django and bop lines.

Angelo Debarre is amazing, notice his string break at about the 4:00 minutes mark, he just keeps playing like nothing is wrong, but you see it on his face as it happens... A true performer in every sense.

Ils sont tous incroyables, Bireli est vraiment un extra-terrestre, mais à chaque fois que j'écoute Angelo, je trouve que c'est le plus musical...ça chante!

The first 1:45 could be the best genuine guitar magic ever videotaped. The chemistry between Debarre and Lagrene is ethereal: clean melody and chewy, relevant rhythm. I keep playing it over and over. Bravo. What sweeter music...

I first watched this video about the time it was introduced to KZbin. I was amazed at the talent and musicality displayed by all the musicians, and how much of an emotional impact it had on me, even on my crummy little computer speakers. I watch it from time to time, and it gets better with each listen!

Well, you'll find plenty of manouche guitar music on CD without any difficulty. Might be easiest to start off with the Rosenberg Trio. This specific recording comes from a DVD, which I don't have at the moment, of a Biréli Lagrène concert in Vienna in 2002. Have a look around for 'Gipsy Project', if you're interested.
