It's a beautyfull finger plane. If you're a luthier, it makes all sense. Iron wood is what we call in Brazil "pau ferro" a specie of Rosewood but harder and realy very difficult to work with. Congrats.

I see you doing a lot of things well that quite a few more experienced YTers on their channels do poorly. Quenching the blade while grinding, choosing the hacksaw over the grinder, knowing the risk but also realizing the limits of what you have available when you break the blade with the vice grips, there are lots of good examples here. Your determination shows, as well, as you keep going with the project after an obviously painful and significant injury on a table saw. That combination of analytical ability and determination is going to serve you well.
