I totally disagree. Bishop Sheard should have never said what he said in the pulpit. That's why the General Assembly put handcuffs on him. He should have been schooled on the rules of a 501(c)3 years ago since he's been a Bishop a long time. Now he's the COGIC leader and unfortunately he's learning the hard way. I'm leery of him now because of his statements, but if the IRS wasn't bought and paid for, they could have come after Bishop Sheard too. He just said what the IRS wanted to hear, but it still breaks the IRS rules for non-profits. He really spoke out of ignorance, but it's good it happened the way it did, so we really know what he's all about now.
