I know exactly how she felt. I can relate to EVERYTHING in this video. I spent 20 years in the foster care system, and let me tell you, Majority of the foster parents are just like the one she left from. I ran away so many times I have been abused my whole life. my story is on my YT page if you're interested but Foster Care is a horrible place for children to be.

I should be a foster mom. I love children and truly care about their overall well-being. That's probably why I never became a foster parent. I see it as a huge responsibility because I would be shaping a child's self-perception, managing their daily activities and needs and planning for their future. It's huge. Unfortunately, most foster parents see each child as a check and jump on the chance. Potentially good parents don't jump on the chance, but we should. Thank you for putting this on my mind and making me reconsider becoming a foster parent.

Listen I’ve been in foster care all my life I aged out and had nowhere to go, I had no family so I totally get you. My mom past away 4 years ago. I had to legit get it on my own. It was really hard growing up from home to home. I had no family to even take me in. The only little family I had before I went into foster care was my mom & my sister. They separated us, she got adopted & I remained in foster care until I was 22. They let me sign back in at 18 to get the help of a place to stay but once I turned 22 they left me with no one to turn to. I had my daughter after 22 & made it happen for myself & her. I remember the feeling of them only wanting to take me in for money. One of My foster mom would tell me she don’t get paid enough for me. It was just horrible. & as an adult now I still have yet to find any family, my sister is doing good & my daughter is living her best life. She only has one childhood so I wanna give her what I never had growing up unconditionally. My mom passing when my kid turned 2 was devastating because now my daughter is going through what I went through sorta on my side with no family. Her father side, she got plenty & I thank God for that. I make sure that she is always Assessable to visit her dads side because I want her to always feel like she has family to run too if any happens , something I didn’t have. Growing up I felt like it was almost like legal prostitution, foster parents gets paid to take a child in. Some homes would have rooms full of bunk beds, just to get a check for every kid. It’s just disgusting how they take these kids but than once they are an adult especially if they have no family to figure it out on their own. I want to one day get a place for aging out foster kids to be able to get permanent housing, like how they give single moms shelters with their kids. There’s not a lot of resources for these kids aging out & the whole country has to do better.
