Kent is great as a parody of small town local celebrities too, that was always my favorite aspect of his character. His super inflated sense of importance and sense of celebrity when no one outside Springfield likely even knows who he is. EVERY small and medium sized town or city has at least one or two of these people and the parody of that has always been hilarious to me lol.
@Belgand2 жыл бұрын
And due to their nature as media figures, it's often a local news anchor. Utterly meaningless outside of their market, but within it they get all the low-grade semi-celebrity crap designed to bring in the rubes with a familiar face. Especially since others that might fill that role, like athletes for a local team that aren't quite a household name, still have the potential to blow up and become much bigger. They're operating on a larger stage that will put them in front of people from outside of town. But local news anchors have reached their limit as the big fish of a small pond.

Gonna again voice my support for Eddie and Lou for the next Histories video. since I'd love to see an in depth look at how the roles of these two have changed over the years. they always just seemed like "those 2 named cops" who appear together in the early seasons. but in any modern episode I've seen either of them in, it seems that Eddie has practically faded into the background while Lou now more often gets paired up with Chief Wiggum, to act as his comedic foil, always taking the chief down a peg with remarks about his incompetence or weight. And I'm just wondering when that change in the character dynamic started to happen and if there's any actual substance or development to Eddie's character and how the show uses him compared to Lou. And then also if Lou has any depth to his character outside of just snarking at his boss.

Once again I am astounded at the level of work you put into this series. Another triumph!

I'd be really interested in an episode about Dolph. Despite appearing in hundreds of episodes he's definitely the least defined out of the school bullies, I'm pretty sure his name has only said in the show several times.

Him jumping into frame for ACTION NEWS! is my absolute favourite Kent Brockman moment.

According to the comics Shelbyville has a program called “Eye on Eye on Springfield” hosted by Brent Stockman.

I’d like to see more obscure characters like Principal Dondelinger, Scott Christian, Birch Barlow or even Dr. Marvin Monroe.

Everytime i watch one of your videos i realize there are 2/3 of this show's episodes I've never seen and i really appreciate your dedication in researching the whole show and not just the golden years that we all know and love. Watching up until the current season so we don't have to is pure dedication.

What you mean 'so we don't have to', there are good things in all seasons, I'm happy to have seen them all

(IV) Duffman or Disco Stu next pleeaaase!! They're my absolute favourites, the writting of their one liners is absolutely genius and for me, they both have the ability to be the highlight of an episode with mere seconds of screen time, which is no mean feat! Oooh yeah!

Great video, I never could really tell how seriously he actually took his job and his 'passion' for news. Also I'm always going to suggest Dolph, Jimbo and Kearney!

I think The Bullies would be an interesting video! But If I had to choose one, I’m picking Kearney, after all he has a very nice jig!

Another great video, dude! I'm 33 and I fell off after episode 300 so getting the post-golden-age info is really cool. And Burns Verkaufen der Kraftwerk is underrated.

10 years of sporadic Realjims Simpsons videos, how time flies. Keep on keeping on. I'd put a Simpsons quote here, but you've heard them all before. Wiggum gets my vote, not for next Simpsons Histories, but the next next next one. That's three away!

insane to me how jim threw out the knowledge of his ten year anniversary as a background gag. here’s to all the great content!

I'd love for you to look into Miss Hoover as an unusual Lisa orientated figure at Springfield Elementary and a random secondary character in crowds.

Can't we agree that that ant overlord is the best joke with Kent Brockman in one of the best episode of the Simpsons ever ? Still hilarious after so many years !

A friend and I love the whole thing between Kent & Arnie, especially "I can't see through metal, Kent." Also "When's my right time, Kent?"

The killbot factory joke is by far my favorite Kent moment; the sensationalism and overblownness of it all gets me every time

These breakdowns are crazy. I thought I new a lot about the Simpsons. I think I would do pretty good at trivia for the first 12 seasons or so maybe up n until John Goodman kidnapped marge with his biker gang , but all I can say is wow these are on another level….. Props…… proprrrr!

I do like Kent, especially when he goes all crazy or is taken down a peg. How about doing a video about someone new added to the cast? Like Kumiko Albertson, Shauna Chalmers, declan Desmond,, Eleonora Abernathy or under used people like Akira, Artie Ziff, or Charlie?

oh *PLEASE* do Sherri & Terri. I have no idea what their deal is. Also, thank you for doing Kent Brockman.
