My wife and I went to this one a few years ago! I met Homer and Marge and told Homer he was my hero. Homer tried to take me over to Moe's for a drink, and Marge had to pull him back to the meet-and-greet area. Magical moments.

Seeing that Homer mascot reminds me of the time Dan Castellanta played a Homer mascot on L.A. Law. He was a sweet guy who loved being a mascot but accidentally broke character when he had a heat stroke.

7:46 that reminds me of when I went to Disney World as a kid for a week. On the day my family visited Animal Kingdom, I was wearing a Harry Potter shirt featuring Aragog the spider. When my family went to get an autograph from safari-dressed Goofy, he pointed to my shirt and cowered in fear for a moment. I love that kind of interaction.

He didn't catch it in the video, but the Kwik-E-Mart name tags and name keychains both have Bort variants. There are three stacks of Bort nametags, they're that popular. Also if you smack Krusty's uvula when walking into The Simpsons ride he'll gag, guests are encouraged to hit it.

It amuses me how much the restaurants, games and gift shop are a part of your theme park experience in the US. Coming from a lower income family, you can imagine my parents reaction to spending money on anything after they had paid for us to get in!

Well for the restaurants at least it makes sense, you're visiting a park that's gimmick is its mimicking a fictional location so having food available from said location is part of the experience.

I regularly go to Universal Orlando since I have an annual pass and am always astounded when I see a small family have to pay over $100 for a sub-par lunch. And we thought theme park food was expensive back in the 00s.

I think you actually mentioned how the Simpsons went from being about parodying pop culture to actual pop culture at some point. Two things- - My wife and I did a bunch of Florida theme parks on our honeymoon and we were determined to take our time through Speingfield that go around. I heard legends of an upstairs room of Simpsons art, but was disappointed to learn it wasn't there. Very glad to know it IS in the other location. - Popping balloons with balls is where your friend Tyler is a viking.

I took my family to the Florida location last March. My wife and I got a Flaming Moe, Lard Lad donut and Krusty Klump bar with almonds. I also got a "Bort" keychain.

I travelled to the same place when I was much younger (from Australia). My family had been to Disney land the day before so I ended up buying a Disney shirt and wore it the next day here. Got a photo with homer and he saw my shirt and covered it up! 😂 Good times man thank you for the throwback time really flies!

Universal Studios Hollywood's my favorite theme park! I remember when I was 13, waiting impatiently for the Springfield expansion to come to the Simpsons Ride area. Definitely makes the experience feel more full, without the old "Doc Brown's Chicken" that is now "Cletus' Chicken Shack" sticking out like a sore thumb.

I've been to the California location, but that was back in 2008, and don't remember a lot of this other than the ride, gift shops, and the area for pictures. I also took a picture with Homer if I remember correctly. I loved the Springfield section, and love that you prefer this one over the Florida park even though I never went there. It's also cool that you visited my home state this year. It's neat that you were able to go to the California theme parks in LA. I was planning a Disneyland trip for this week months ago because I wanted to go to Disneyland for my birthday, but it didn't work out. I live in California, but I'm all the way up near the San Francisco Bay Area. I wish I lived further down south. Great video Jim. These theme park visits make for fun videos.

Sounds like my problem, only I live in San Diego so LA is north of me. I guess technically I'm closer-- at least closer than San Francisco, but LA traffic easily adds an extra two hours onto any trip up there, so instead of two, it takes about four hours just to get anywhere near Disneyland, Knott's, or Universal, let alone LA.

I was in universal studios a few months ago with my family, but by the time we got to Springfield, the family was wanting to go to other areas nearby. So, we basically just passed through. We did get a big, pink donut though, which was big enough to share amongst us. Overall, I am hyped to go back some day and check out more of the stuff there.

My partner and I are big fans of Simpsons and your channel, and thoroughly enjoyed the LA Springfield (haven’t done Florida), thanks for going more in-depth with it as we definitely didn’t get to spend as much time in it as we wanted unfortunately :( We definitely got the same vibe that it was “homely” and quaint given it felt all tucked into a corner and like a Town Square. Between this land, The Wizarding World and Super Nintendo world along with rides like Transformers, Jurassic World, The Mummy’s Revenge, Minion Mayhem, Secret Life of Pets and the Studio Tour, this park has REALLY stepped up over the years

We went at the absolute best time where yes there were people but not enough to make a line anywhere so anything you wanted to go do you could do as many times as you wanted without waiting....I went on that damn ride at least a dozen times with my little brother and only stopped because we had other places to go but could have easily kept going for hours

I know this vid is about the California Springfield, but one of my formative memories of visiting the parks version of Springfield was in Orlando, bashing the absolute crap out of my toe on a stone trash can, and having to wait inside the Kwik-E-Mart for the first aid people to get there. A fantastic way to accidentally guilt my parents into getting me some merch!

It's a very congested land on the main walkway is my only complaint. There are cute details like being able to set off the reactor but it gets hard to explore or lounge in the area as all the seating is for eating and the walkway is packed with people leaving Hogwarts or heading to the Tram Tour or Lower lot
