When I was a small child and I had a cold my mother would always bring me a bottle of Lucozade and it was supposed to help you get better, It was the UKs first energy drink. In fact it was sold in pharmacies rather that ordinary shops

When the Pensioners used the Post Office, their would be a queue half an hour before opening. This was because for some people on their own, it was a chance to see and speak with others. Sadly, with the Pension now being paid into the bank, it is another way of lonely people remaining lonely.

Glad you are sticking with it mate! And I'm glad you can understand the dialect Aye OAP's used to collect their pensions at the Post Office, usually a Monday and folk on the dole (benefits) would pick theirs up there to, on a Wednesday, but now it's all payed straight into your bank account

One of my favourite scenes when Willie Mcintosh turns up in Navids. Cracks me up when Navid says " Give Dead Willie his special K"...

Nowt stranger than folk hey when someone passes...or not in this case. Suddenly that thing you lent in 1937 becomes important or the that clock, antique/expensive item, well he wont be needing it now will he so I was wondering if...thing is this time he was nay deed!! Loved the glowing, sitar playing 'prize' invites to the wedding. I really don't know why I never saw this series as it's so funny.

There isn't a state pension in America. So my cousin in Florida tells me. That's why you see old folk out there bagging groceries. Basically work til you drop.

Many people still do as they don't like using the cash machine and the post office maybe closer or quieter than the bank. But yes you are right that a lot less people do it now.

You used to have a book of weekly vouchers for pensions and welfare benefits. That were exchanged for cash at the Post Office. These were withdrawn in 2005, and payments were only made into bank accounts. Which upset a lot of older people who had never had bank accounts. Since then a lot of local bank branches have closed down. Which can be a problem for people who like to use cash. So now the local Post Office will handle cash transactions on behalf of the banks.

5:41 Error: Winston says Isa showed him that Willy McIntosh died in the paper. But this is incorrect she just told him that he died. 14:32 to 14:36 Error: Jack says he was waiting outside the cinema in 1937 waiting to see The Wizard of Oz. But in reality The Wizard of Oz came out in 1939 not 1937. Plot Hole: If Winston had a key to his house while he was in the hospital, then why didn't Winston not take in the bottles of milk and letters?

Wow great catches! I was thinking during editing wait that lady said she read he was dead they never explained was she lying or the paper misprinted. I chalked it up to she passed on a rumor and lied to make it credible. Well done DJ Thank You

@@DJDonnelly See, for the paper thing I felt like it made sense because when she starts the story she's talking about which newspaper she bought and banging on about why she doesn't normally buy it? Winston then fast-forwards her to the actual point and she says Wullie is dead. So I always figured that when Winston says Isa showed him in the paper it was because it was in the paper and Isa was clearly going to show him if he didn't tell her to hurry the fuck up. :P
