Wonderful and informative video as usual! If I may make one point: Re your # 5 - DryDex is spackle, which is commonly used to fill nail holes and small imperfections but not on drywall. Drywall compound is joint compound or Westpac 5 min, 20 min or 90 min drywall mud, used with tape to seal drywall as is joint compound. DryDex makes joint compound also, but what you held up was spackle. When I do stencils I use joint compound to give them texture. Works great! Anyway, Happy !0th!!

I just bought some glass bead gel and am really excited to experiment with raised stenciling. BTW, would love some advanced tips on stenciling...bleeding is an issue for me, no matter how little paint I use! So sweet your hubby did that project on video and I bet you'll have that vase forever. He kind of cheated since all we saw were his hands, so he's the Mystery Man!

Hi Christina. This video is all about making texture to pieces but my question is how do I paint a furniture piece with chalk paint and keep it smooth? My finished piece is textured. Not sure what I did. Thank you and Happy Belated Anniversary!!

Hi Cindy!! Good question!!! the trick is having a good synthetic brush to have to create a smooth finish. Also, in between coats once dry is to do light sanding with very fine sandpaper like 220 or greater to get rid of any brush lines. The other way (I have not doe this technique, but I have seen others do this) is use a spray paint gun. I hope this helps!! ❤️🎨🙏

I use Durhams water putty to make my texture medium. It comes in a powder and I add it directly to my paint. And it's super cheap!

oh i wanted to make thick paint to create texture and used baking soda.... BIG MISTAKE hehe. Youre suppose to use baking POWDER not the soda. the soda reacts with your paint and bubbles over hehe and dries in strage colours. Baking powder works wonders! give nice thick texture! :)

Hi Gloria!! You can use chalk paint wax to protect it like clear wax or if you want you can use a top coat like polyurethane product like minwax or similar. I hope this helps! ❤️🎨🙏

For textured rollers I usually just get ones from Home Depot no particular brand. I find are all around the same quality. The concrete ones I think are thick so they will hold more paint and give a textured look at well. 🎨🙏❤️
