I'm going to have to steal that rivet nut installing method, so simple and easy. Brilliant work.

HOLY CRAP. I've been fighting those inserts for months by hammering them from the back side with a mallet. WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT BOLT METHOD?! omg I feel so stupid now. It was so obvious. Thanks, you just saved me tons of work! Sometimes you just can't see the tree for the forest.

The thrust washer 'installer' is brilliant, as is the reduced thickness wrench.

No toolbox is complete without an assortment of "custom" wrenches. I have a drawer full. I buy the cheapest set of combination wrenches and keep them around for just such occasions. When they are used up, buy another set.

It's always a joy to watch your videos. Your camera and editing work is very well done. PS: I also have a small and very noisy compressor that always scares the crap out of me when it kicks on...

Those silent compressors are very good, specially when like me you have a small room and conventional ones are too loud. I've made my own with a fridge compressor and an old gas tank, it isn't perfect (there are some very little leaks) but it's another thing for the ears.

Ciao !! Very nice video, i like too much how you record very near to the tool, chips seem come to the screen every time!! And the lead weights (homemade) are elegant!! I have one of that but with a capacity of 2 liters and in my case i want to use with airbrush gun, but i push one time, air finished !Same refrigerator motor !! Ciao from Italy, Alberto.

If you can get your hands on 2nd hand bicycle wrenches then you'll have small 15 mm without needing to grind them. On the other side, they are most of the time cheaply made with soft steel so.

Always enjoy your videos. Do you know what that square lathe insert holder you used for chamfering is called? I have been looking for one like that with no luck. Looks very handy.

Hi James Du, It came from Chesterfield Machine Tools some time ago here in the UK, but I'm not sure they're still trading as I can find no trace of them (not to be confused with Chester Machine Tools) It has a 10mm shank so the insert overlaps on 3 sides. I usually use it with a SCGT09T304 insert for aluminium on my small machine, as they're sharper and take less cutting pressure. The way I use it it's ok for just about everything, including light cuts in mild steel. Thanks for watching 👍 🇬🇧

@@TheRecreationalMachinist Thanks! Yes looks very handy how you can chamfer, face, and turn with the one tool. I looked up the insert and found the holder! It is a SSDCN1010H09 for anyone else looking. Thanks again!

It's brilliant! Not suited to all workshops of course, owing to it's tiny capacity, but it's perfect for what I need. I don't regret it for a second. Thanks for watching!

My needs are low volume, occasional use and low noise so it's perfect. I'd buy another if it failed. Depends how much air you need and how often I guess.
