Toby lived a long, good life, thats all you can ask... Ive always liked a Cadenza, Soyfan what is the main difference between this and the K200?
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
I assume you meant the K900? The K900 is bigger and where this car is a NEAR luxury car (competes with lower end / entry level luxury rides like Lexus like the ES350, maybe some entry level BMW 5s like the 528, Audi A6 base model), the K900 is an outright luxury ride and competes more head to head in terms of size with the BMW 7, Mercedes S, etc. The K900 features a 420HP V8, rear air cooled seats, heads up display, on and on and on - it's a more true full size large luxury car vs. a near luxury premium sedan. I drive a leased 2015 Cadenza SXL, and looked at the K900 at the time. It's gorgeous, but I didn't need the huge car at the time.
@bradchervel52027 жыл бұрын
Jim Brashear Ya I did mean the k900 lol dumb name for a car, thanks for your response BTW. It cleared a lot up.
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
Brad James interesting backstory to why it's called that; in Korea it's called K9. In fact all of their cars are K and then a number the Optima = K5, Cadenza K7 etc. they knew they couldn't do that here because K-9 they would get all the jokes about it being a dog.
@bradchervel52027 жыл бұрын
Jim Brashear lol that is funny, however they could have spun it like we are the Big dog, but I know they have a tough relationship with canines:)
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
Brad James true they could've. In Europe it's called the Quoris. Not sure what was wrong with just using that one. I think they wanted the digits to seem luxurious like Audi and BMW.

How's the quality of the Nappa Leather specifically? I remember someone said they're some of the cheapest Nappa Leather he's ever felt, maybe it was Alex on Autos. Unfortunately the none fold down rear seats is a deal breaker for me :/

My 2015 SXL has the Nappa and I like it better than the loaded 300C's Nappa leather my best buddy drives. My former boss has a BMW 528 and his seats didn't seem any better either. Not sure what "Alex" was smoking but the seats in this car are actually very nice.

I love this car, but I would choose the Lexus ES 350(maybe the Avalon too but as I am a Lexus fanboy)because you can get the new 2017 one for $45,000 and a little less(for a similar equipped model). Don't get me wrong though, I will most definitely get this car over the "Germans". My opinion won't change, so there's no point in telling me the Kia is better than Lexus.

lawlkings The ES, you can. The $70k-$80K is Lexus LS money.
@lawlkings7 жыл бұрын
+D.J Wheaton The ES is a mid-size car, not a full-size like the Kia Cadenza is. The Cadenza is the same size as a Lexus LS/Avalon, whereas the ES is the same size as the Camry.
@2isadventures7 жыл бұрын
lawlkings No, the ES is full-size because ES and the Avalon share the same platform. I don't think they would put a Toyota frame on their flagship sedan. Look it up. He clearly said the competitors in the video.

In my opinion Kia has not come far enough to price this thing so high. If you can get a comparable Avalon for roughly the same price or even a little less 99% of people are going to go with the Toyota. This looks like a nice car, but it's still a Kia and I remember not too long ago when Kia was the laughing stock of car manufacturers.

Never compare this to Lexus
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
I did when I cross shopped - this thing is better than an ES350 in every way. Dollar for dollar a $45K Lexus vs. the $45K loaded Cadenza = Cadenza better car. Now of course once you get into a GS or a "real Lexus" as I call them (let's be honest an ES is really an Avalon) then no.
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
The Camry isn't even close to the same as this car. Mid sized small economy car vs. full sized premium near luxury car? Not even close to the same. I mean sure they compare the same way a Ford Focus compares to a Chrysler 300...
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
Platform isn't everything. The Camry's size is a full 5 inches shorter and 2 inches narrower than the Cadenza. MUCH smaller car.
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
You're comparing a $25K economy car to a $45K luxury car... sorry bud it just doesn't compare. The Chrysler 300 was the platform for many Mercedes rides for a long time - that doesn't mean buying a Chrysler compares to a Mercedes. The Ford Fusion platform was used by Jaguar - that doesn't mean a Ford Fusion is as nice as a Jaguar.
@jbrashguitarist7 жыл бұрын
Right - Avalon is a more true head to head with a Cadenza. The ES comparison was more because the original poster of this thread stated this car should not be compared to a Lexus, and my point is there are several Lexus models this car can compare to and even beat easily.
