I own the 2022 grand cherokee limited. It's probably a 150lbs-200lbs lighter than the trailhawk, but I find the 3.6/transmission combo to be a Rockstar. Yes, on paper the 3.6 sucks, but it doesn't feel underpowered in the slightest. It's a perfect match between power and efficiency. Cruising around at 55mph-60mph I get 30 mpg all day.

@@Natethegreat200c The RAV4 has "Toyota Reliability" on its side, somewhat real, and more so perceived." The RAV4 also has over 200 HP with the base 2.5NA, and both hybrid powertrains have more, and around 300 HP for the Prime. No, we don't have to put up with it, we can buy something else. The Compass is underpowered even by the segment's standards. The new Rogue has a 3 cyl turbo with over 200 HP. The CX5 and CX30 base engine has 187 HP with the option for a turbo with 225-250 HP. The CRV has 190 HP with the 1.5T. The Compass' powertrain is the 2.4NA with only 180 HP making it among the weakest in the segment. For those that are in love with the "Jeepness," then by all means, go ahead. On the other hand, I can see why my local dealership has only 6 Cherokee's in stock, and over 100 Compass'. IMHO, Jeep can do better, and if not, then vote with your dollars elsewhere.

Question, is there any possibility that they may put the 3L diesel in this vehicle question such as what is in the Wrangler and the Gladiator? So you're comparing a 4Runner to the Grand Cherokee and I understand they're both turo vehicles but I really don't understand why you would want to compare a body-on-frame to and unibody construction vehicle the ride is going to be different than Breaking going to be different to feel is going to be completely different. Now they're really not the same the comparison is a lot better with the Wrangler 4-door to the 4Runner

This is a vast upgrade from the last gen. But $65000 is crazy. If this were to switch spots with the Altitude in the trim hierarchy I think it would be a better buy. At $65000 I think this should at least have the 5.7 V8. There are some that will take it offroad but that's probably a small quantity. Not too many people want to potentially damage a $65000 vehicle offroad. At $65000 this is in the realm of a Lexus RX, Acura MDX, Genesis GV80, and some lightly optioned European Vehicles. This trim topping out around $58000 I think would make more sense but I know Jeep faithful don't care. But this trim would persuade me to move up the trim ladder. If you're able to afford a $65000 one you can probably afford a $70000 to $75000 one.

I'm really surprised that for this being a trailhawk that they would even offer the 3.6 because those engines like you have clearly demonstrated do not take off very well at all and on top of that have a lot of issues which is why they're going to be facing this engine out for the new hurricane engine that's an inline 6 which makes way more power and actually gets the same or better fuel economy than this engine. Hopefully that new engine will be in next year's because this 3.6 has got to go!!!!!

@@LTJohn Who's knows if that will be reliable? I know when they start putting them on the roads, the engines will have problems which is normal... But my point is that it may not be reliable, it's boosted which puts stress on the engine. It's gonna drag around I'm gonna imagine around the same weight as this if not heavier. Yes it will have more power and torque but it's still boosted and that adds more stress to the engine. The Pentastar is a good and robust engine. Mom has a 3.6 in her Charger GT and it hasn't gave her any issues and trust me she's beat on it pretty hard, also has 145k on it, may not seem like a lot but it's only 2 years old. The earlier 3.6s had issues because they were new engines at the time.

Please do your research. That engine is recognized as one of the best and reliable V6 engines out there. The reason the company are moving toward different engines is because fuel economy. Though the 4Runner is not as refined or as modern as the Jeep Trailhawk, it at least ha e a clear purpose, which is being a genuine 4WD vehicle. The Trailhalk is a bit of a disappointment to me for having too much luxury appointments & not enough focus on 4WD or trail capabilities. It suffers from a split personality. Considering Jeep has several models to choose from, they should've made this a more trail-focussed SUV. If not the 4Runner, I'll be looking elsewhere to spend my money.

I think that the Pentastar engine has been overrated, considering how much low gas mileage and power you can get out of it. An Audi Q5 with 2.0 turbo engine makes almost the same power. Jeep needs to get an engine with power and torque that gets better gas mileage. The Trailhawk is a very good all-rounder, though. I wish Ford made a 4x4 capable compact SUV in this category that looks like a Sport Overlander.

The anti theft alarm randomly goes off, blinkers, brakes, and airbag alert all went off at once, I even got locked in the car and could not accelerate when in drive. It was as if the car was in neutral! When I contacted the dealership they immediately took it to service. When I called today, the mechanic told me that chrysler told them to disassemble the vehicle to try and trouble shoot it. The mechanic can't even tell me how long it will be because he has no idea what to do and a chrysler engineer is instructing him on what to troubleshoot. So basically my car is a guinea pig. U don’t know grand Cherokee obviously. Loyal buyers come back for grand Cherokee time after time after time. They BUY them as well. I know PERSONALLY at least 3 people with a 2012-13 with over 100-270k miles got them all brand new. Have been with chrysler for a while. Cut the crap.

Consumer Reports 2022 issue rated the Jeep Wrangler with one of the worst scores ever recorded in automotive history. A dismal 28%. Pure junk 🤮 Major service issues with engine, transmission and electronics. Avoid any Jeep product at all costs! ( namely yours! 😂) DO NOT BUY!

You're stupid knocking a 4runner. What will cost more when you trade or sell each of these vehicles. This thing will be worth 50 cents to the dollar, when a TRD Pro will stay near it's retail price or even go up in value. Also reliability and over road capabilities, are far far far greater in the 4runner. Chrysler products are no where near the quality of a Toyota. I like you, but knocking the 4runner to these pile is just dumb bro.

He wasn't knocking the 4Runner, he was stating facts. The 4Runner doesn't have nearly the refinement of the Jeep, especially when driving everyday. This Jeep also takes away most offroading plusses of thr 4Runner, mainly having the axle disconnect and ELSD. 4Runner has a earned a rep of reliability, but you have to live with poor dynamics, fuel economy, wind/road roar, etc.

@@hellkitty1014 this can probably hang with a 4Runner on some trails but if you took this off-road every weekend something would break. It’s a unibody vehicle with IRS so it’s basically a car.
