If no one's mentioned it, Paul Walker and Vin Diesel were best friends. Vin Diesel flew straight to Paul Walker's mom's house after he died and ended up breaking down in front of her. He's Meadow Walker's godfather and he named one of his daughters Pauline. He still talks about Paul Walker with a lot of love.

The crazy thing is, during the filming of this movie, paul Walker and Vin Diesel hated each other and had so much conflict that Vin Diesel didn't want to make 2 Fast 2 Furious with Paul walker. Just FYI, before the sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious. there is a short film called The Turbo Charged Prelude that serves as a prequel. I am a HUGE F&F fan, probably even more or at least equal to the Mission Impossible franchise, for me. I'd say many, if not most, fans say the franchise really took off after the 4th or 5th movie and that is when most current fans jumped on-board and then went back to see the original 3 movies, but I seriously think the next 2 sequels are very underrated and seeing them all in chronological order makes for a much more fun experience seeing how they all build on each other.

If you really want to learn more about the cars used for the first few movies when it was still about street racing/drifting you should look up Craig Lieberman. He served as the technical advisor for the films and two of his cars were actually used in the movie, the blue Maxima and the orange Supra that Brian raced Dom in the final scenes. Car meetups used to be a huge thing in the early 2000s and I really miss going to some of the local ones. And FYI, street racing and "street takeovers" are two completely different things. If it's organized, street racing is done on abandoned roads away from the public [since it's basically illegal AF]. Street takeovers is what these idiots started doing during the pandemic where they block off intersections and drive in circles for hours. They give the old school car culture a bad name. --If you're wondering how Dom survived, there's a roll bar that's supporting the roof. Paul's Supra has one bolted inside of his car too. It protects a driver in case you happen to crash and the vehicle rolls over.

Who would've ever thought in 2001 that this movie (basically Point Break with cars in LA) would become a heist movie with cars in Rio in 2011, a super spy chase with cars across London and Spain in 2013, and basically evolve into live-action Hot Wheels after that😄. Although F9 and Fast X didn't really do it for me, part of the fun of these movies is seeing how they one-up themselves doing even crazier stuff with cars.

Great reaction you 2. I am sure the comments mentioned this but Paul and Vin were very good friends and when Paul died, there is an homage to him in the.....7th or 8th one. It hit the whole cast really hard, as well it should be cause Paul was truly a wonderful human being and quite the advocate against child trafficking. There are stories circulating, that his death was not accidental. It is sad we lost such a gifted actor and human. I believe his brother filled in when he passed away to finish I believe 7 or 8. I forget. I would look up the trivia on that one and I am sure the comments here will fill in the gaps.
