It actually all makes sense if you know how the whole kpop industry works, and how delusional the hardcore fans are. It's a story of a parasocial relationship between fans and idols, the girl is "watching" the idols through the screen and seeing how they're having fun and are supposedly her "friends", while in reality they're just people on the screen that she watches, she just feels a bond between them for some reason. That's a very short version and a bit simplified as many scenes actually mean something and OMG was the followup to Ditto, not the other way around. OMG just continues the "delusional" story where it's from a perspective of an idol, not a fan like in Ditto. Especially that phone scene in the beginning is strong, where Hanni thinks she's an iPhone and lists all the stuff she will do for the fans and portrays herself as a "servant" to them. These songs sound good, have fun dances and stuff, but it's actually depressing and sad cause that's the reality of kpop industry and how it functions.

@@TheReelTimes It's a bit more difficult when you watch them out of sequence. At one point they're practicing OMG dance in Ditto. Then at the end of OMG, there's a flashback montage to Attention & all their past year Idol life experiences that highlights Daniel breaking the 4th wall.

The MV depicts the evolution of the relationship between fans and idols. The girl with the camera whose face we never see is called Heesoo, and she represents us as fans and spends most of her time watching these idols through her camera, the same way we do through our phones and begins to develop an attachment to NewJeans to the point where it takes over most of her life, and she has no real friends. However, at some point in her life as she grows up she begins to see the reality that the relationship that she has with NewJeans is not real, and begins to drift apart from them as she matures. The baby deer you see throughout the video represents her coming of age, and how she eventually outgrows NewJeans and begins to form real connections with real people, which is why you see her throwing away the camera and then getting together with the guy in the end. Later on in life, she would come back to rewatch the tape and find that the NewJeans she had once idolized has always been there, and she could reconnect to them again like she once did when she was young and relive her memories as a fan. The whole story of Ditto represents how a fan could discover and love and support their favorite group to the point it becomes their whole world, and then outgrow it and move on to something else. But it also shows that the fan can always rediscover his/her love for the group down the road and be reminded of the time of when we were young and they were our whole world, the same way you would when you rewatch old MVs or listen to songs of your favorite idols/groups in the past. Everything everyone's wrote regarding the parasocial relationship tween fans & Idols , vice versa, is 💯. If you get a chance to revisit OMG's MV , You will notice in the beginning , when Hanni is Steve Jobs . She is sitting at a desk writing notes next to a bird (Twitter) , the note she's writing is addressed to HEESOO 😉. OMG is DITTO but from the Idols Pov Heesoo is revisiting the tapes she recorded as a teenager. My theory is she's also in the Psyche Ward just like NJs are in OMG and Heesoo is also sitting around in the background of OMG . She only sees a blank recording just like Danielle sees in OMG(Danielle is also the only 1 , aside from Heesoo, to break the line tween both worlds by acknowledging the Film Crew ) Lastly Haerin is referred to as the cat or Kitty Kang (as she replies I'm not a Cat) which is exactly her Psychosis in OMG (she believed shes a 😺)

EXPLAINATION: the mv shows the relationship between a fan and a k-pop idol or a celebrity. this relationship isn’t actually real because we’re just seeing this celebrity through our phones (or the camera in the mv). we’re not actually friends with these kpop idols because they don’t even know us! the guy in mv is supposed to be like the fan seeing reality and making a real friend. I hope this explanation made sense :) ❤️

There is an actual channel called "ban heesoo" with random videos and clips of the girls dancing which is recorded by the girl in the mv ( ig ). Adore always thinks one step ahead And this is why people say newjeans is like a fresh wave to the industry. Their concepts,choreograohies , their kind of music everything feels new and fresh !!

You should react to the choreography. There are 2 versions, the first is from the music video and they have a second choreo that is exclusive to the dance performance and the one they dance too on their live performances of the song

u should check out the ban hesoo omg version in the promotional channel they made for ditto. there are other clips there from the video arranged in order to provide some lore and then the final video is the special music video hesoo made for the new jeans in her universe.

Comments are about right. The videos about how fans are obsessed with k-pop groups and see themselves as part of the group, the guy she's taking a video represents the real people but the girl doesn't want to focus on him and always focuses on being obsessed with the group. Then at the end she eventually stops following them and goes off with the guy, learning how to accept reality. But it also showed that she still is a fan of them when they show her older self, re watching the old videos

The videos don’t really have an official perspective to what it means they just kind of leave it to you to interpret but there were two theories when the videos came out first was that they girls had a car accident that’s why she has her hand broken and the girl with the camera was the only one that survived which she developed survivals guilt. This theory would make sense as to why she has a broken arm and why it looked like the videos were filmed for real. But as mentioned before ditto and OMG appear to be connected so it didn’t really give us a connection to OMG with this theory Second and most popular theory is that this is the parasocial relationship between an idol and fans. I you guys are new to K-pop so might not be familiar but within K-pop fandom specially Korean fans have a tendency to get obssesed with their idols to the point were idols are prohibited by contract to not have relationships publicly some agencies will punish you if you get discovered. So to the fans their idols are their whole world they think they know them when in reality they’ve only seen them through a screen. The camera represent that barrier. In the video the only way she could see the girls is with the camera but in side B we see the others POV and there was no one just her an the camera. When she decides to brake the camera that represents fans moving on to their lives and actually living their lives instead of being focused on them. We see that she ends up with the guy at the end which represents again moving on and living their lives however at the end of side B we see a more mature fan looking back at newjeans and that represents how they will always be a fond memory to the fans even after they grow up. So this is just a reflection on fans they are trying to tell bunnies to not get obsessed with them to the point of not seeing reality. They want bunnies to live their lives however they will always be there to comfort bunnies in hard situation. This theory makes the most sense because OMG was also about that parasocial relationship but it was shown more through the idols perspective how idols loose themselves trying to become what the fans want and ditto is the fans loosing their lives because they are too focused on their idols. With this being said I appreciate their team and how creative they are when it comes to telling a story. I remember when ditto and OMG came out everyone was so confused and making a lot of theories and what everything meant it was such a fun time. Newjeans always manages to captivate people. They have been not had a comeback since 7 months now and for K-pop standards that a lot of time. However it means that we will have a comeback soon. The girls have hinted a possible tour also so we are so exited for their new era.

Its about a lonely girl with no friends who uses kpop as a form of escapism and coping mechanism. Shes built an imaginary world in her mind where she is friends with newjeans... eventually though in side b she comes to the realisation that no matter how much her imaginary world helps her through school at the end shes stilll very lonely in reality... the 'boy' represents her reality of moving on and in order to do so she needs to accept that newjeans are imaginary and move on with the guy... which she eventually does. Its about how fans can depend so heavily and are influenced so much by their idols that it can negatively impact their real world situations. OMG is the opposite and shows how idols can be negatively impacted by the fans. The ending of side b throws people off but i beleive she is just watching white noise on the tv (like she was earlier in the video) and what we see on the tv is what she is seeing in her head...
