I am so glad to find a group of charismatics that are well grounded and not trying to be flashy with giftings and anointings. Yes, and I love the language of 'positioning yourself' to receive the grace and power of God. To have faith and expect God to demonstrate His power to people in real and tangible ways. Another aspect of prayer that welcomes these gifts is WORSHIP! Thank God for who He reveals Himself to be, then ask God to move on the people to be able to receive, then worship Him as being the worthy One. Then watch Him perform mighty works among us.

amen me too!! extremely grateful to God to have found them recently. I’m a former WoF 19yr old coming from a WoF/prosperity gospel family now relearning my theology to biblical views and I still have visceral reactions whenever my ears hear hyper-charismatic buzzwords 😆🤎

Grace and peace. You guys ought to give us some of your own preaching and teaching, like take a couple or three shows, one for all of you, to bring a sermon. Brother Roundtree should definitely give us the whole John 15 sermon, each should do the sermon he is most passionate about. Please, I feel we're missing out.

I came from a Baptist background as well. The thing that helped me so much coming from the Baptist church was that I knew that the Bible was truth, period. As I read the Bible more, it led me to questions such as “why are we not seeing the things that are happening in the Bible happen now?” I pray that you find and experience all that God offers us in his word!

I’ve been searching for an event like the February conference since I started following Christ. I’ve been so curious about the prophetic and I haven’t found anyone to teach about the gift of prophecy. I got my ticket to the conference! I’m coming from Massachusetts for it!

Michael Rowntree insinuates that the reason that cessationists see healings occasionally is because they pray for it occasionally. I call foul! 13:33 The claim seems to make sense But I have attended both charismatic and cessationist churches my whole adult life and I have seen no greater frequency of legitimate healings at continuationists/charismatic churches than I have at cessationist churches. The only thing I have observed is a greater frequency of fake, false, or psychosomatic “healings” at Charismatic churches with many of those churches claiming that you were healed but “LOST” your healing because of your lack of faith. I think this is a completely false premise setup by Rowntree and that God alone heals when he Sovereignly desires to. If I can be participate in His will through prayer -amen!

I saw more healings decades ago before there were so many wolves in the charismatic movement. They've taken it over, and God has backed off. Yes, God backs off when we don't do His will. The charismatic church as a whole has allowed the wolves to roam freely. Remnant guys allowed Chris Reed to roam. They knew he was a huckster but didn't warn the flock. Or was that Bolz? One of the two they knew about.
@AaronTaylor12
@AaronTaylor12 2 күн бұрын
@ they had Chris Reed on the program and even gave favorable comments on his “prophet word” when they reviewed it. During those episodes I told them Christ Reed was false and that Shawn Bolz was dangerous and Michael Miller defended Shawn’s character. They were warned by multiple people and still chose to have him on the program. 🤷‍♂️

If your church /pastor/elders practices James 5 type "prayer of faith" healing I wouldn't consider that "cessationist". Maybe it is, but I don't think anointing with oil, praying the prayer of faith, and seeing the sick raised up sounds like "cessationism".

@@AaronTaylor12 No they admit that they knew Chris was giving fake words, this before his sexual thing at morningstar. So they knew for years that CR was a phony BUT WARNED NO ONE. I also warned them, but maybe they don't read comments. So to me they are wolves too. Or just young men who don't know the seriousness of things. They come across as kind of immature, but they're only in their thirties so okay. They're still in an ego phase maybe.

@@AaronTaylor12 Also, why didn't they know by the Spirit that Bolz was a fake? I don't get that. How can pastors be that blind?

Yes! "With His stripes, we are"/ "were healed!" Lord, please increase the faith of all of us so we'll see more healings, in the mighty name of Jesus! Let's consider the Great Commission at the end of Mark! "These *signs will follow* those who believe"... Let's consider the middle of the Great Commission in Matthew: "teaching them, us, to *do all things* whatsoever I have *commanded* you," Matthew 28 That surely doesn't rule out Matthew 10, where Jesus *commanded* them to "heal the sick...." "Until the end of the age/world/cosmos" Matthew 28 again. We have been commanded by Jesus to heal the sick! In His power, of course, by the HolySpirit. . He must expect us to have or pray for more, much faith. Again, may He increase our faith for healing--*or not--but usually!* If not, no blame, no shame. But let's consider "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power who went about doing good and *healing all* who were oppressed of the devil for God was with Him"!!! Acts 10:38 May we all be healed, one way or another, in the mighty name of Jesus!

Peter was probably praying a repeating prayer that all jews used to pray at the time he was doing this. We should do the same pray self made prayer and ancient ones that the church used to pray.

For some composed prayers work amazing to help focus their attention - mind and heart - on the things that are on God’s heart. For some it works at times, and at other times it doesn’t. For some the best prayer is spontaneous. I personally pray both ways. I pray out of the Jewish Siddur, I pray the apostolic prayers found in the New Testament, the prayers of the Old Testament saints from the Bible and I pray spontaneous prayers according to what is on my heart. They each help draw me into His presence and align my heart with His. Unfortunately my evil inclination (flesh) resist death hard!

13:55 not only saying but repeating and emphasizing that cessatioists “occasionally” pray for healing feels just as unfair as all charismatics being painted into one of two corners: word of faith or all antics no bible.

First, how did you have access to this 4 days early? Second this premise that cessationist see healing far less than charismatics/continuationists is completely false. If anything the frequency at which cessationists see legitimate healings in relation to their prayer is more consistent when compared with the frequency at which we see fake, false and psychosomatic healings at charismatic churches. “Show me the toes” is the perfect real world example of how a typical charismatic church handles their so called “healing gift”. I left another comment in which I go into greater detail on what I’ve observed attending both styles of church over the past 25ish years.
