What a fabulous tool! Thank you! i am a surface pattern designer and discovering some seamless tiles I have created aren't so seamless is frustrating and time consuming. Just by a stroke of luck found your video. Thank you so much!! After 3 tries I got a few that worked, woohoo! I will be letting all my compadres know :)

Thank you so much for this video. I am finally able to create high quality seamless textures a project I have been working on intermittently for over a year. A couple of things I'd like to add. Materialize often does not do a good job of tiling the height map even though all the others are perfect. Even when you do get a decent height map out of it the image is limited to 8 bits which leads to obvious artifacts when used in Blender. The easiest work-around for the first issue is just don't use the generated height map. Many textures are fine without it. If you want a height map create one just to get to the tiling process. Tile the texture. Go back into Show Full Material. Delete the current height map and create a new one based on the new diffuse image. Make sure to save everything as png files. To fix the 8-bit problem load the texture into Gimp. Select Image/Precision/16-bit integer. Select Blur/Tileable Blur with a radius of 15. File/Export the resulting image as a png file. Happy Blending.

Thank you so much for these tutorials! You made everything so simple and easy to follow for someone that only just discovered this kind of software existed. I've not bothered looking into it until now because I assumed I would need photoshop. So when I did look into it and found Materialize I was excited but daunted at the idea of again learning a new program. But you made it so simple and within 20 minutes I now have a seamless shag carpet texture. It's not perfect but it's good enough for what I need it for. I am so grateful and will definitely continue to watch your videos! 🥰

Is there a program that does this but ALSO lets you paint pixels? These programs try to do too much with tiling....but what if I want to hand paint my seamless tiling bitmaps whilst seeing the multi-tile version update real-time? Any way to do this? Thanks!

Been learning so much from how to use this programme, and understanding the different aspects and it has been really very clear and easy to follow in the instructions. Having a technical issues that post manipulation the bmp image files are being shown as black even though in the programme they are clear? Is this something that you might be able to cover in a short video, of What to do "if that happens if X or Y happens or doesn't happen, what to do"? i am sure that I am not the only one who wishes we could just turn around to ask as we would a teacher! Thanks again for doing so many amazing videoes Justin!

Is there a way to invert the normal map? I noticed the bricks were setting in instead of out in the materialize viewport. It just looked backward to me... maybe not, lol.
@gladiatorscoops490711 ай бұрын
if it appears backwards, in Photoshop you can invert your green channel and itl sort it out.

sometimes this program wont save the edited texture. In sketchup when i applied the texture it still looks like the original one. it happen with random stone pattern. So i guess there is no easy way to make seamless texture

Thank you very much for this app, it is priceless, but also useless according animal wallpaper, or I haven´t figure it out yet. I needed seemless jungle wallpaper and just one tip for all guys, who don´t have Photoshop- I just added approx 15 exact same pictures I needed to Powepoint, connected them when for example tail was missing and voila- you use snipping tool and have seamless texture.
@TheRenderingEssentials3 жыл бұрын
I don't understand what this means - it's priceless but also worthless? The whole point of this is you just load in an image, adjust some sliders, and you get all the PBR maps seamlessly...
@veronikaillesova28383 жыл бұрын
@@TheRenderingEssentials I meant that it is very good app, if you need to adjust bricks, stones, etc. But when I tried it with jungle wallpaper - leafs, birds, etc... And it didn't match together at all. I needed part of wallpaper higher to connect the whole animal, or leaf... But if you make tutorial for some of those patterns, it will be appreciated.
