I saw one of your pieces at San Francisco airport last night and it is stunning. The exhibition is call British Silver, and I believe the piece is the Spiritus piece you mention in this video... absolutely stunning work. I’m learning smithing at college and understand how much time and work this takes! Thanks for sharing your process.

Thank you so much for sharing this inspiring video. This piece is magical and I love how it encourages the viewer to slow down and look deeper. I'm only about 2 years into my journey working with silver, and I'm so excited to learn more, especially creating and forming 3D objects with a sense of movement. Thank you! :)

just WOW! how do you prevent fire scale and tarnish on your pieces
@TheresaNguyenSilver2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alejandro, I anneal the surface of the silver several times to bring the fine silver to the surface and this gives the silver a uniform whitened finish. Although silver does tarnish overtime you can slow down this process with renaissance wax or a clear protective lacquer for sculptural objects.

My question is how do you polish it when it tarnishes with age? The leaves are all textured and curly, making it difficult for cloth polishing.
@TheresaNguyenSilver2 жыл бұрын
For this piece I would reccomend using silver foam and hand polishing the tarnish away. It would take a while as you say the shape has many curves and textured surfaces.
