Looks like a fun challenge…..I love lists :) I just came across this challenge, so not sure if I can fit it on my long list of craft "want to dos", lol. As for making sure your words fit in the space..there are a few ways to do this. 1. Put the bottom edge of the stickers on the top edge of a ruler…once you know it fits, press the top of the sticker down on your page. 2. Put the sticker letters on some wax paper as you can see through it. 3. save the sticker backing and put the sticker letters on there to make sure it fits in the space you have.

Yep - I'm super late to this dance party! But the positioning of the pink letters sparked a thought: If you stick the bottom of each letter to the very, very edge of a plastic ruler (kind of like lightly sticking them to a page), you can pick them up all and once and pretty much stick them down all together. Just hold the tops down with your finger and pull the ruler out from underneath. If you used a clear ruler, you could even "audition" the letters in several places before committing to placement. So where was I 6 months ago? LOL! I need to catch up!

that totally cracked me up when your hand and scissors cut that phone card before your mind and mouth had spoken the choice. it was like your hand was tired of holding what appears to be 10 lb scissors lol & said 'I'm cutting this flipping card while her mouth and mind decide what to do'. I lol ed so hard at that. I feel your pain and why I need two of everything. if I don't have two of them I will hold on to the one for cotton picking ever. because I just know one day something else will come to mind for it and the reality is ... it likely wont. 😂😂
@beautyandtheblonde919 жыл бұрын
I always start with the end of the word, IE start with the S in listers wherever you want it and move backwards, it lets you do end spacing better so that you can have pretty consistent spacing all the way through.

I love this video!! I am in that listing stage where I make lists of what I am going to do with my paycheck and make a budget and then I make wish lists of things I want from different places and it makes me feel like I was shopping even though I can't actually afford that stuff right now. It's really enjoyable though and I don't feel badly that I can't buy everything because at least I get to make a list! I am super interested in this challenge and already downloaded the challenge list - just gotta find a notebook for it! So much fun! And your notebook cover turned out so cute. I seriously enjoyed this video and normally when I see the length of a video and it's over 20 minutes, I'm like nope. But I found this really great. I liked seeing your trial and error process because I've watched videos where the design process took 5 minutes and it always takes me forever because I am a bit of a perfectionist and I appreciate what you said about just enjoying the process and not beating yourself up so don't you worry that viewers are saying put the sticker down already. I like seeing the outcome of your thoughtful process. Also, your corner clipper is so cute! Where did you get it?! And I am officially sorry for the novel I have just written you. Thank you for this video!

There is a great way to get letters on, Jennifer McGuire Ink recommends using an acrylic/ see through ruler - do the same only press the bottom on the letters onto the ruler edge then once moved around can press top of letters onto project. :)

quick tip for putting letters on proj ects, if you have a ruler, esp tim holtz... you use the very last line to place the bottom edge of letters, plus you can align the letters correctly. once you have it straight, place top of letter on paper, stick down.
@heatherredmore98289 жыл бұрын
You wondered about a trick for placing letter stickers. I learned one several years ago from a Becky Higgins video. She used a clear plastic ruler and placed the letters along the edge barely sticking them down and held them over her paper to determine placement. Its a great trick, I hope the way I described it well. :)

not sure if someone already commented but to get the stickers to line up or make sure there's enough space for them - i use the edge of a ruler (the one in the IWP planner works!) to stick just the edge of the sticker on then set it where i want it to go & then i can see if it fits.. if not, then it's easier to move them around without messing up your paper :)
@vegasjill217 жыл бұрын
14:03 What you say here is what I do, but for a WEEK!!! For the past 2 years. Even longer, actually!! I just can NOT make up my mind on anything. I just get all my pretties out, stare at them, move em around, can't make up my mind, so I put everything back in the boxes... then I do it all over again the next day...and the next. This is kinda like not fun any more....I guess I can chock that up to my anxiety!!! Plus I cringe every time I cut into my pretty papers. Arrrrggg!!! lol Maybe I'm not cut out for this????? o_O LMAO Your little book turned out adorable, tho!!! ;)

If I may, a trick for aligning your words is to half or part stick them to a CLEAN ruler and then you can move it around over your page till you decide where you want to place it and stick the exposed letters down before removing the ruler. Hope it helps. 😃

Thought I would share how I stick down letter stickers to try and get them straight. I use a plastic ruler (preferably clear) and stick the bottom tip of the letter to the edge of the ruler. This helps make sure they are in a straight line and evenly spaced out. Then, you can place the ruler over your project to see if you like the way it looks. When you've placed it correctly, press down the letters onto your paper and peel back the ruler. Hope that makes sense!

I want to give this a try. I'm not very creative but want to do this type of thing. I did check out hobby lobby for the first time today and they really did not have a good supply of stuff. I did buy alittle that jumped out at me. my $1 section at walmart doesn't have anything good. I've looked a few times unless I don't check at the right times. I also have checked oout joann's. got stickers and stamps. none of these stores have a nice supply of washi tap especially the thin. I enjoy watching your videos for ideas. I signed up for your emails I know I'm late for the beginning so guess I'll just start with july and go at my own pace for the itme being and do some catch up. with journals and such I never know what to write so this might be easier for me to do. I'll keep watch for when the store reopens. I have one of those foxidori leather pocket ones which I put 4 (I think) field note books in. I probably should get the blank ones rather than the lines pages.
