Loving the podcast! As a Spurs fan I would have loved to see Harry in this side but I don't see how we would have had this start with him. Part of our success has come from the fact that our side is much quicker back to front and despite H's immense quality, him and Son together in an attack alongside the mercurial Kulu is a very slow attack. Plus he would get in Maddison's way when he drops deep like he does for England which is why it's so hard for any of our 10s to really shine centrally.

Top striker 🤝 and your analysis on Burnley yesterday was spot on , we should be looking more at our poor display rather than focusing on var errors that aren't there. Handball at the end never , if that was ever given against us in a phase such as yesterday I'd be fuming. Look forward to Mondays pod 👏

Tip for Micah: Spurs are a better team without Harry Kane, but not because of Harry Kane's absence. They've replaced other positions with better players and current players have improved - both can be independent from Harry Kane's presence.

I think kane needed to leave in order to get this revolution in the midfield. If he comes back next year itll be fantastic, but if he'd stayed the team wouldn't have made this much progress imo, even with all the same new players
@C33Fernandez
@C33Fernandez 11 ай бұрын
@@tokilladaemon Yeah, I tend towards a similar opinion, but we can't really know. Ange could have orchestrated a similar change with Kane present, if he has that intention and progress in mind. But Son in the new role is working wonders with the midfield behind him - He tends to drop off in form every now and then, but if he develops consistency, it could be a killer formation.

Remember in Harry Kane last game for Spurs, under Postecoglou, he scored 4 goals in a 5-1 win. In the new year however they lose Bissouma, Sarr and Son to the African Nations Cup and the Asian Cup. In Spurs first 6 games Romero only gave away one foul and has still only been booked once.

To be honest Spurs are better team without Kane. No disrespect to Kane, but Spurs were built around Kane. It was set up so the team played for an individual rather than individuals working as a team. That's why Kane's doing better in Bayern, he's an individual working as a team. Because he joined the team that was built without him he just filled in the slot.

Spurs are winning with or without Kane. Without the sale you maybe don't get the players you need. Of course Harry Kane would have carried on scoring goals in an Ange system. Sometimes it just doesn't make any difference. Son is 12-1 to finish top scorer. I reckon it's a good outside bet. Haaland is the favorite by miles. As it sits just now, it's one goal. You'd imagine if Kane was still at Spurs they'd be even more prolific. Sadly we'll never know.

He has 2 decent games against mediocre opposition and apparently he's turned a corner. If he was a likeable guy, he wouldn't be getting criticised as badly, atleast it wouldn't be as personally targeted as it has been. These pundits just protect him because he's English. "Are Spurs better without Harry Kane?" Yes. Alan and Gary are completely blind to Son's abilities, and they too often hold Kane in high regard when Kane hasn't won anything. Perhaps because Kane is English and Son is not. At least Micah acknowledges Son. Just look at the stats. Removing this season, Spurs winning record with Kane and with/without Son is about 54%. But, Son without Kane is 64%. Son is the better team player. And, he's the better finisher. His career xG difference is way higher than Kane. In fact, no one is better than Son in the past six years in the PL.

You can’t rewrite the past with one or two games- overalls Maguire has been abysmal at Utd. I’m sorry about the abuse he gets but you can’t escape criticism with the performances he’s given. I’ll have to see him perform well until at least Boxing Day to say he’s actually turned things around.
