To fix joycon drift, instead of replacing the joysticks, you can place a milimeter thick piece of paper between the joystick and the battery. You will never have that issue again

For those who have had slight joycon drift and don't feel like opening your joycons: isopropyl alcohol into cotton swab/Q-tip, enough to soak it -> rub the alcohol into the joystick base where you can see the seam between the console and stick -> after getting the whole thing nice and wet, rotate joystick vigorously while clicking it at the same time in order to get the alcohol all the way inside -> repeat the whole process couple times, usually three or four does the trick for me. And there you have it, the drift should be gone for a good half a year or so, depending of usage I guess. Has worked for me every time and counting.

@omrydadon673 жыл бұрын
I just wanted to let you know there is a more permanent solution for joycon stick drift. Just take a bit of cardstock, and some double-sided tape, and stick it to the back of the joycon module before reassembling. Edit: here is a link to the OG video kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJrHaZ9_jdKNrac
@Charky_Creations3 жыл бұрын
I've been accidentally causing drift by screwing joycons together too tightly for years... and somehow I never made the connection that it might work in reverse :')
@sagichdirdochnicht46533 жыл бұрын
Tough it won't work for all sticks. Had open a defective Joycon from ebay, and that analoge stick was propably the worst drift I've ever seen - the cardboard solution won't work there. For milder forms of drift it appears to work fine.
@omrydadon673 жыл бұрын
@@sagichdirdochnicht4653 there's no problem with him replacing the analog stick. But after you do that, add that little bit of cardstock to make sure you don't get the minor drift as well. It's just so prominent, and will most likely happen in most joycons.

I also cringed at not putting some fresh thermal paste on the SoC as well. Not to mention that you should've checked if the Switch you bought is exploitable or not. RCM-capable Switches cost quite a fortune on the secondary market, and if this one is indeed a first-revision model, you're golden!
