The squished head look on the “no-ghost” patch is actually accurate to the original film. The patches were made by hand in 1984 and that’s why there’s all those small imperfections. Hasbro recreated the screen used patch almost perfectly

Yeah, it looks like they referenced either the Venkman or Spengler patch. The stitchwork is different (which is really just modern mass production vs hand stitching), but the design is VERY GB1. They did a solid job. Almost certainly the most movie-accurate officially licensed no-ghost patch.

GREAT GHOST TRAP REVIEW SPOT 👻👻👻👻👾👾👾👻👻👻

I've been having a lot of fun with the trap and meter. I've already started doing some light mods to the trap. So far, I've replaced the labels and dry rub transfers (and added a label to the top of the pedal relay, GB1 style, and the white arrow next to the small side dial), darkened the bar graph lens, wrapped the cable in split loom, and modified the faux resistor on the side. I've got a few real resistors on hand, but before I cut off the internal clip for the fake one, I just wanted to see how it could be improved. If you paint the ends of the insert cylinder gloss black and drill small holes in the prongs, it honestly looks pretty convincing. I can't wait to see all the mods that will be going up for sale in the coming weeks and months. It has serious potential, and even right out of the box, it's a surprisingly detailed rendering. The PKE meter is also great. I'd have preferred an 80s style one, with the slimmer profile, but they scanned all the Afterlife props, so I get it. And the fact that they found a way to make the taser function work on a collectible toy is pretty impressive. I haven't had a chance to properly test the EMF mode, but from what little I've played around with it, it seems to be weak but functional. The fact that it's included is a fun novelty. For the most part, the patches are just meant to be unique Ghostbusters collectibles for serious Ghostbusters collectors, though the Mini-Puft one might be cute for a kid's Ghostbuster uniform. I do kinda wish they'd done a GB2 patch, even if I've never understood why they put that logo on their patches in the second movie. It's not like their reopened business was called Ghostbusters 2. 😆

I don´t understand how these movies (the first 2 in particulat) ended up meaning so much to me. More so when my mother took me to see the firt on theaters. I was so little that either at the Librarian Ghost or Slime going towards Venkman...I got so scared I hid under the seat. Yet I fell in love with them. I once rented one of them, watched it at my cousin´s because I lied saying I had a school assignment and had to write a paper on it. She took the notes. And she was very angry. I think it was the comedy, the characters and horror. There are plenty of very scary sequences in those movies: the Terror Dogs, the hands that grab Dane in the sofa, Gozer, Vigo, the flashlight eyes of Janosz... And the FX. Love those effect. Do they have a specific name? Love how the ghosts look in the movies as well as in Poltergeist.

The trap holster is impressive. Very accurate to the actual screen-used ones (particularly the improved and reinforced ones from GB2). I'll replace the strap with a leather one, but otherwise, that thing is a tank. And having tried it on my belt, the trap honestly doesn't feel as heavy to troop as I thought it would. Of course, I'm used to carrying about 25 pounds of proton pack on my back, but still. haha

I have the Haslab Neutrona Wand (w/o the orange tip), Proton Pack and now these. The only other GB prop left I'd like Hasbro to release is the Containment Unit. I know there's a cardboard one out there but I'd like something more durable, made of plastic at least 🤞

Watching your review while working on my own. I added some black wash in the wheels because the deeper parts didn't have any paint and you could tell too easily that it's 1 metal piece. The black makes it look more realistic. I also modelled and 3d printed inserts for the inside of the wheel to make them have the ball bearings like the outside. No more hollow wheels.

I love that you're going the extra mile to make the toy look more accurate!

@@TheReviewSpot It's already amazing on it's own. I'm just taking it the extra little 5% to make it look like a proper prop from all angles. Right now I'm 3d printing a new red light. The red plastic one looks cheap. I modelled one with the same measurements but I added lines in the insides and circles on the top like the proper glass version has. I'm not sure if it will look better but it's worth trying. I would also like to do something about the inside of the doors. Maybe model something that look like the inside of the trap just to hide the bare black plastic.

The Ghost Trap and PKE meter really pop and look like they're made of good quality. The sound effects are really cool, too!

The matte collector pke battery compartment was the entire back of the pke meter. It made hiding the compartment easier, as you merely took off the entire back panel to put in the 3 AAA batteries. I personally like that better than hasbro’s battery compartment. As it makes it look cleaner. I would say that probably due to the taser mode they couldn’t do it that way, but they could easily have the back panel fit around the taser switch (which they already have it doing to put it together)

In emf mode all the buttons work, you can still use the manual settings and possibly the automated button too. One thing about the emf mode is that it can be inconsistent so it’s hard to tell if the wings are moving due to emf or programmed One thing I know about the emf mode is that it will spike with near something that generates an emf, like most lights or tv or a charging cable. I have yet to compare or see anyone compare the pke’s emf detector or a professional grade emf detector. So I don’t know if the random times the wings move (they seem to move more with the sound on) is due to low emf detection or just animated programming. It’s too bad the instructions don’t tell you how to use or read the emf mode.
