I'm glad someone explained this. I just now pulled out the hot fix gun I bought 2 and a half years ago, lol! I didn't even know this pattern thing existed! How do I get these? I have a Cricket, but honestly I don't really know how to work that very well either. HELP!

Welcome to the TRW Crew! We've got a ton of tutorials here on our KZbin channel, which can help get you started on your crafting or rhinestone journey. You mentioned a hotfix gun? Are you using one of those bedazzler wands that heats up hotfix rhinestones one at a time? You can use that, but it will take you a Very long time to get the heat-activated discs on the backs of your rhinestones heated up to the point the disc liquifies and then bonds the stone to the shirt, since it only heats one stone at a time. We recommend a heat press or even the Cricut Easypress. The Easypress is notorious for being off on the temperature, though, so please get an infrared thermometer to check the heat coming off the platen. Cricut's software is very limited and doesn't offer many designing tools, but you can use one of our rhinestone ttf (true type fonts) in Design Space and type your text. This video shows you how to use a rhinestone font in Design Space and then size the template so the holes fit those rhinestones. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqq8o318fZV4psk We go Live here on our KZbin channel every Monday night, starting at 8pm EST. That's an interesting question. We've never had an issue with rhinestones snagging anything. They're fully pressed to your blank shirt, hat or hoodie, so there's nothing to snag. Have you tried to do rhinestones with your vinyl cutter, yet? -TRW Pilar

Hi, I’ve never had them snag my clothing. I do turn the clothing inside out when washing and drying but I’m not sure if that’s what you are referring to.

Which kind of vinyl is the flower example? If it's HTV then you'll just press that to the fabric, like on a tee shirt. The blue material shown in the video is Magic Flock. We use this to cut templates from and then brush rhinestones into the holes left behind to form the pattern. Then we lift the stones out using hotfix acrylic heat tape and move to the next surface we're pressing to. I have done this and some of my holes seem to be either be too close together because they are cut through and when I take itnoff my mat they pull and it rips. My mat is not very sticky so I figured that would be the best one to use. Help.

The most important thing with Rhinestone templates is to make sure everything is sized properly. SS10 stones we cut the holes at .135" so the stones can fall in and have room to flip out and fall in right side up if they happen to fall in upside down. If your Flock is ripping, try flipping the mat over and rolling IT off of the Flock. We do this for Adhesive vinyl, which prevents the paper backing on that from ripping. -TRW Pilar
