Kelly my daughter’s father did the exact same thing to my daughter. I wasted too much energy and tears trying to get him to help out and just be in her life since she was 8 years old. It did no good. I finally had to let it go for my sanity. My daughter had to grow thru a lot to get over his rejection. She grew up, now 40 she made a last attempt to have him in her life because even though he hurt her many times over she loved him and decided to be a better person and let him know she still cared for him but let him now how hurt she’d been. He’s now trying to be in her life but she’ll always keep him at arm’s length. It is terrible and sad he was never the dad she dreamed she’d have but lesson learned and she turned out to be a great mom, always there for her girls. Jolie will come to terms with it one way or another. Don’t waste your energy on him stressing you out, not worth it. She has you, Rick and her grandma that have her back and show her what love really means.

So many of us have gone through exactly what you’re experiencing with Michael. When my oldest son left for college, his father gave him TEN DOLLARS!!! I said strangers gave more than that!! I paid for EVERYTHING!! I feel your pain but you have to let it go because it eats away at you. He doesn’t deserve your energy. Jolie is proof of good parenting and love for your child.
