That wasn’t a hot take even at the time. Kobe was given a “lifetime achievement” MVP. Simmons even had a take on that in his book. He said that either CP3 or KG should have won it that year; and he was right.

@jbwuzhere6819 Жыл бұрын
First thing. Steph is greater than CP3 but... how he became greater tells the story. Steph was in a better situation team wise. He had the perfect compliment of players around him. His teams were always tops on the defensive side of the ball despite him being a below avg defender. They were able to hide him on defense. CP3 couldn't hide behind J.J. Reddick, Jamal Crawford, etc. because Paul was the best defender on the team. The Warriors had 3-4 guys who could handle, facilitate and defend. If you remove both players from their respective teams the Warriors were the better roster to a man. Blake Griffin was excellent but after that... it was all GSW.

Im sorry, but i already gotta pushback. The Steph/CP3 comparison would have to be a lot closer for it to be similar. Like neck and neck. Meanwhile Jay and Nas have/will be debated about their greatness for 20+yrs and till the end of time. EDIT: Okay, I do see what Van is trying to say. Steph/Jay far more successful overall. But at least at one point in time, Nas was above him, and now he's an equal or even been leapfrogged over

But his "worst of" is *awful*. He's a volume rapper. I hate to be the white guy picking a white guy as the best, but that's why I have Eminem number one: his "worst of" is still really really fucking good. (There are some guys I have no problem with arguing as #1 instead of Em. But Jay-Z is NOT one of them.)
