is there a way we, as viewers, can know what temps the colors mean?

With how this footage was recorded, it doesn't give us exact measurements. Instead, the camera calibrates every few minutes to adjust to the new temperatures. In the morning, the air temperature was probably in the low 50s and it was more like the high 70s or low 80s by the end.

cold is purple when they come out, orange is warm, yellow is go cool off and share the heat with a purplish... Note the nostrils stay purple chilled, very interesting.
